I didn't have anything to do today so I went to the theatre and picked the first new movie that had the next showtime.

What a mistake that was, I got so bored with this movie I walked out of it.

Don't waste your money on this trash.

Really? I was annoyed by how much time they took to simply show bouncing mammaries. If a comedy movie needs to resort to showing that in a preview, then it's an almost certain sign that it's not a movie worth seeing.

I actually enjoyed the movie. It was more than just a comedy and i could hear a lot of people in the audience crying their eyes out. Thought it was smart and well done.. Still had some old school Adam Sandler style comedy to it which is what i always loved.

I'm bothered by the fact that people can't enjoy a simple B-rated comedy anymore. I haven't seen this movie, but this just seems like a good place to put this comment.

I don't go to theatres expecting to see a LotR-esque performance out of comedians. Why can't people just chill and enjoy a joke or two?

What's considered a B-Rated comedy? Budget? Didn't Click has a decent sized budget?

Was Office Space or Napolean Dynamite a B-Rated movie? Those were enjoyable and couldn't have had a very high budget.

A lot of comedies these days are studios getting a major star and then randomly picking a script for them to be in.

Click isn't a B-rated movie.. It is a Happy Madison production, and Sandler has a lot of money and backers sooo...

That still doesn't change the fact i think it was an enjoyable movie.

Good cos it was arrant nonsense first time around.
You can't expect people to "chill and enjoy a joke or two" when those 2 jokes are buried in 90 mins such utter shit you want to cleanse your mind with bleach and fire for hours afterwards. For an example see Zoolander.

Movies don't have to be highbrow or worthy. They just have to be "not shite".

Clearly you don't understand that people's tastes are different. What some see as comedy, others see as tripe. Then again, some people see tripe as funny, and others vomit at the sight/smell of it.

Zoolander was silly as hell, its only value was in how over the top moronic it was, I do not get the genre of comedy that it, Dumb and Dumber etc fit into. Comedy can be smart AND funny. The problem is that most audiences cannot handle "teh intelligent" humor. So they make shit rather than try.

I am going to see this flick tonight, I expect that it will suck to be honest, but I am hoping for one or two good laughs. Happy Gilmour and Waterboy owned Zoolander/Dumb And Dumber, I am hoping Click does also.

Heres a good example..

I loved Zoolander and Dodgeball.. i thought they were very silly/funny movies.

On that note, one of my favorite movies of all time is Snatch, considerably a smart comedy. The majority of people ive shown that to didn't understand what was happening, while i was laughing my ass off.

Click was a good movie, and yes, it did have some of his old style humor in it, tho not much. If you want proof of him using his old humor ill supply it, but its a meaningless argument. You may not have enjoyed it because it wasn't the kind of funny you were expecting.. however.. it wasn't the kind of funny i was expecting either, but i enjoyed the style of it.

There's many different types of comedy.. slapstick, physical, satire, political, gross-out, bizarre, intelligent, etc. Being able to enjoy some of the less 'highbrow' types of comedy doesn't mean you can't handle it... it just means that you have a better sense of humor. :D

I still believe that if you cannot find humor in Zoolander, you shouldn't be permitted to view and comment on any comedy (or perhaps any genre) as you simply have no taste!

Humor is in the eye of the beholder, but good comedy is not three stooges, it can be abbot and costello. Funny is Carlin not Louie Anderson, funny is Mitch Hedberg not Chris Kattan, funny is Dane Cook not Anthony Michael Hall on SNL heh. Then there is Will Ferrell who is sometimes funny, sometimes lame.

Not Funny:
Dumb & Dumber
Pink Panther (the real shit)
All of Me
Meet the Parents
Galaxy Quest
Black Adder
Fawlty Towers
Zoolander
Anything with the guy from Zoolander=not funny
Anything from the two brothers with the fart jokes that did dumb and dumber
South Park Season 3 forward

Funny:
Most things Bill Murray did before getting serious
Life of Brian
Happy Gilmour
Freaks and Geeks Boxed Set
The Muppet Show
South Park Season 1 and 2

moot to discussion;
Road accidents
Third world poverty

All humor is based in pain anyways, Heinlein noted that via Michael Valtentine Smith in the 50's. So it is all cruel to being with.

As I stated in my original post, I CAN find humour in Zoolander. It has 2 good jokes. The rest of the film is dross. A thin premise worn transparent before the hour mark has passed.

I saw Click last night and enjoyed it a lot.

The cameos were awesome and sandler was great. I laughed quite a bit, even shed 2 tears towards the end, and I appreciated the overall message the movie conveyed.

I hated Superman and it has a 75% on rottentomatoes, I thoroughly enjoyed Click and it has a 30%... Sure it's a small sample, but critics these days are true fucking whores of the movie industry, or they're completely retarded, one or the other.

8/10 - I'd watch it again, even in the theater.. just maybe with a different girl next time

So they are completely retarded because their reviews on two movies doesn't correspond with yours? That doesn't make much sense.

Obviously people can enjoy bad movies. That doesn't really make them any better.

Not that I have seen either movie. So it's nothing about those two. I just think reviewers get a bad rap lots of times. They're just people who watch a lot of movies!

(BTW, Ebert rated Click the same as Superman Returns. Isn't that a dilemma!)

Now that I've seen both Superman and Click I think I'll give the nod to Superman. Fart jokes and boobs aren't really funny anymore.

I also thought the ending was very gimmicky but as a 'comedy' I guess that's what had to happen.

I enjoyed it a lot. I felt I had seen most of the movie via the coming attractions that show way too mucha nd way too often, but I decided to watch it anyway.

What a touching movie. Some funny pasrts yes, but the best emotion that surafaced because of this movie was crying. I let movies get to me all the time, but rarely a full on cry where you're yipping. Probably more powerful to parents though.

8 out of 10 rating.
