Anyone still play Magic the Gathering?

No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

Anyone still play Magic the Gathering?

Post by Momopi »

I was just curious if MTG has died out yet in your area...I quit magic right after Urza's saga because noone played in New Orleans anymore and all my magic friends went to EQ. I often thought that Magic was 9123923 times more fun and addictive than EQ so just checking to see if this game was still played much anymore. Still own all my Juzams yay!

I played a lot for about a year and then got bored with it. Eventualy sold off all my cards to a friend.

I was curious about that as well. After college I haven't played the game at all. I still have a bunch of cards but I doubt they are worth anything. I got in during Dark and left a few expansions after Ice Age.

Between myself and my best friend we have around 2k Forgotten Realms "Spellfire" cards :)

It was the only card game I ever got involved in... was fun for a while. Never got in to Magic: The Gathering

I ran out of people to play and refused to buy cards after they did the huge rule changes for timing. I still have all my cards, about 7000 of them. I figure I could probably get $100 for the lot if I desired. Only decks I have built now though are a huge library deck that I can pull out in a hurry to play with old friends.

I love the game but ran out of people to play it with.

you can still play MtG online.

you get vertual decks from starter to booster.

Lots of people to play with on-line.

To play is free to to buy the cards is like $3 for boosters and $9 for starter.

and the only money spent was for the cards.

Everquest cured me of my MotG habit, both in time (less) and cost(MUCH less).

I sold a car for 2 boxes of Star Wars cards. The original set with black borders. Was worth it because the tie rods on the cars snapped while Jice was driving it one day. No one was hurt but I was glad it wasn't me.

Magic killed Gaming (pnp)
Then Magic bought Gaming
Then Hasbro bought Magic
Everquest and others killed Magic (at least for my friends and I)
??? will kill EQ?
