Podcasts...
I tried listening to a few of em and most wind up being painful/boring experiences.
Am I the only one that really dislike this information format?

it sounds like you dislike the content more than the format
a microphone is up on the stage for everyone to use.. expect some sour acts and some winners

I TOLD YOU ID SHOOT! BUT YOU DIDNT BELIEVE ME! WHY DIDNT YOU BELIEVE ME?
So far, the ones I've enjoyed are weekly shows specific to an area of interest. I don't care for the ones where people just talk about themselves. Who cares. There are some well organized ones with weekly guests, several interesting stories that are on topic...and some great news casts for HDTV, Tech stories...several good comic casts (if you're into them).Animalor wrote:All the ones I've listened to were mp3's downloaded and listened from the PC. Podcast as I'm referring to it probably is more akin to an audio blog than anything else.
I don't own an MP3 player at all as I'm not a huge fan of music to begin with.
As I said on my other thread, there are 18,000+ podcasts so using sites like Podcastalley help to narrow the search is a big help.

I've found playing a pod/zencast in the background while playing online games works well sometimes. Using Winamp, MediaMonkey, or some other media player compatible with the media controls on the G15 keyboard helps as well so you can pause etc while in the game easily.

http://www.zencast.com/
but I'd recommend podcast alley though as zencast is just another site for finding these things and some of the independant sites are better for that.

podcast != ipodcast
It's a poor name choice yes but if you read the forums, the podcasters are switching over to mp3 radiply to get rid of the lame propretary Applecrap formats.

Here's some of the "Podcasts" I've been listening to. For those that like Tech News, Comics, Console News, Science, History, or Paranormal, you might find a few podcasts to check out on this list:

As Animalor mentioned, podcasts can range from retarded to very good. Most of the ones above tend to be on the good side although the geek factor can run extremely high. I listen to these mostly commuting back and forth from work and home but I also listen to them on my PC depending on what I'm doing.
iTunes (Apple sucks!) has excellent searching and handling of podcasts. Anyone can try these for free by downloading iTunes even if you don't have an iPod.
