Howl's moving castle

Post by Nick »

I just rented this out on DVD, it's made by the guy who did Spirited Away.

I'm not a particularly huge fan of that Japanese art style (manga?) but certain films are either too cool or too beautiful to ignore (Akira, Spirited Away, Ghost in the shell).

This has Christian Bale, Lauren Bacall, Jean Simmons and some other familiar faces doing voices throughout.

It's visually a feast and it has a really good story (if a little cheesy as these films can be), nevertheless, anyone who doesn't love this is just a sour faced old grump who needs a slap.

I've watched V for Vendetta, Inside man and this in the last 2 days, this is as good as those other 2 (of course in a totally different way).

Watch it!

Howl's Moving Castle.

That was more entertaining than I thought it would be. I liked Billy Crystal as Calcifer.

7/10
