Am I the only one that thinks her whole story is false? For some reason I think its some plan she and some Iraqi friends came up with. Story just doesnt add up. "They never hit me or even threatened to hit me", She never did look scared or even worried to me.

The group that allegedly took her had also released a pair of French journalists in 2004. I guess its possible though.

But wasnt her interpreter shot and killed when she was abducted?

It's not really a kidnapping unless there's at least one good bitch slap.

It seems to me like she may be suffering from a very bad case of Stockholm Syndrome - especially if she feels her life was spared and she wasn't treated inhumanely when her interpreter was killed. It's bizarre to me that she keeps saying that she was treated very well when she was kept in a small room with no contact with the outside world for over two months. I've never considered the idea of solitary confinement a walk in the park...

Was her interpreter an Iraqi? I dont recall, but it would be easy to say 'some guy' was killed while he is really involved in the plot or is at least still walking around.

its not hard to look this shit up, you know.

Allan Enwiyah was the interpreter, an Iraqi christian. Iraqi police found him dead at the site of the abduction with 2 gunshot wounds to the head. Unless theyre in on it too, of course!

I wonder why she was supposedly crying in at least one of the videos released of her if they were treating her so well.

Even if they're not beating you like an Iraqi prisoner in US custody I'd imagine it's still fairly traumatic being abducted and held against your will. Knowing they already killed your interpreter and not knowing what they have planned for you. I mean really..

Being 'treated well' is a relative concept. Assuming her story is true (and even counting the murder of her interpreter and her solitary confinement) then it seems fair to say that she was treated well. She was treated well relative to other hostages who have had their HEADS SAWED OFF WITH KNIVES and she has been treated well relative to detainees of the U.S.A. who have been threatened by dogs, sexually abused, and made to stay in 'stress positions' (whatever the fuck that means).

If I was kidnapped for use as a bargaining chip in the war on terror and I had Jill Carroll's experience, I'd be happy as hell (although I'm sure her interpreter isn't too pleased).

I mean that she said they never threatened her, but they released information to the media saying that they would kill her if all female prisoners were not released....I would consider that a threat.

True enough, but I dont care enough to look it up. From the get go I thought something was amiss in the story and I still feel that way.

Apparently she has come out saying that the comments originally made were under duress.

quoting a portion of the link above...
Statements made ‘under duress’
In a video recorded before she was freed and posted by her captors on an Islamist Web site, Carroll spoke out against the U.S. military presence. On Saturday, she said the recording was made under duress.

“During my last night in captivity, my captors forced me to participate in a propaganda video. They told me I would be released if I cooperated. I was living in a threatening environment, under their control, and wanted to go home alive. So I agreed,” she said in a statement.

“Things that I was forced to say while captive are now being taken by some as an accurate reflection of my personal views. They are not.”
