Isaac Hayes

Post by Midnyte_Ragebringer »

This is a clip from Isaac Hayes just a few months ago on the Opie & Anthony show on XM202. It's pretty funny to hear this now after what happened last week.

It's right on top there under 12/20/2005. I would recommend saving it to your hard rive first, it streams like ass.

17 mins in, is when he mentions the scientology episode and how trey and matt pick on all religions and that he isn't offended at all by that episode.

There's a rumor that it was actually his church handler that quit the show for him or something. Sounds a little tinfoil hat for me.

It was a church handler, he had a stroke and is recovering, his speech is fucked up, that'd be why he quit

Do you have a link to support this? I haven't read anything about this yet, but then again I haven't really been looking hard either.

There are a few links if you just search google. Not a lot of info on any of them though. Apparently the stroke was suffered on January 17th of this year.

It would make sense that he didn't really quit, on the commercials for the season premiere they're celebrating that Chef is coming back.

I thought they had like a week-ish turnaround on creating a new episode (see: the feeding-tube/terry schiavo episode), so if Isaac Hayes were really off the show I'd be surprised if they aired one celebrating Chef's return.

Also supported by their episode where the kindergarten election gets held up by a girl named Flora who just can't decide.

Sounds like tonight's episode will be Stone and Parker taking more digs at Isaac.

I love the way they trashed the shit out of Hayes and Scientology in the episode. All the references were great.

Wow. That was a great episode. I can't believe they put that together so quickly. Very funny stuff. I'm so glad they took the high road and don't hold it against Isaac.

Quote from Kyle towards the end of the episode:
[Show]
Kyle: We're all here today because Chef has been such an important part of our lives. A lot of us don't agree with the choices Chef has made in the past few days. Some of us feel hurt and confused that he seemed to turn his back on us. But we can't let the events of the last week take away the memories of how much Chef made us smile. I'm gonna remember Chef as the jolly old guy who broke into song. I'm gonna remember chef as the guy who gave us advice to live by. So you see, we shouldn't be mad at Chef for leaving us. We should be mad at that fruity little club for scrambling his brains.

"Didn't hold it against Isaac"

?

Didn't you watch it? They were fair to him in one speech at the end, but they still completely trashed his character and his choices and made him a complete laughing stock (which he deserves).

It is definitely a weird group. They make these weird machines that are supposed to help cleanse the body or something and I sold some of the component pieces for them. They had several models ranging in prices up to I believe 5K. The more expensive, the better the "result". The facility was huge, it had a golf course, recording studio, movie set and mini studio and a to of buildings. All the employees had to wear uniforms that looked like Military Uniforms. I always felt like showering after being there to wash the weirdness away.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon
