Hi,
I am building a new Micro Computer and I am having a bit of trouble with the new technology.

I plan on using the Aspire X-Qpack-BL/420 Black/blue case.

What I need to know is if this chip

I don't know much about AMD but I'm going to say yes. Processor is socket 939 and so is the motherboard. How can it not work!

To confirm you should probably visit ASUS's web site. Most motherboard manufacturers have compatability charts for memory and processors.

Don't see the 170 listed for that MB... But still thinking it will work!

That chip is an Operton, which I think usually is used in servers.

However, the board looks like it only supports Athlon based chips, so don't think it would work. Don't quote me on that, though.

Most MBs that support Athlon X2's also unofficially support Opterons...they're the same chip essentially.

I'm not familiar with that particular MB so can't say for sure.

I run that chip in an ASUS SLI premium motherboard and it works great, it was not listed for my motherboard either.
