Wow, that is really amazing. It's even better it seemed his peers were nice to him, and actually gave him a chance to do what he wanted to do, and didnt just laugh at him.

That is awesome. I think it is great that his fellow students are so supportive. I generally think of people in that age group as being unsensitive and downright mean to people like J-Mac. Good for him!

I've found it's usually kids who treat handicapped people better than adults do.

I ran into the prejudice against people with disabilities a lot when I worked for an MHMR center in Kansas. My main job duties were getting the people (I worked with adults) more integrated into society. This included getting them access to recreation, employment, and residential facilities. It's amazing how people's perceptions of them affects their reactions. More were more afraid that the people would be violent rather than doubting their ability to function "properly." I was a Special Olympics coach for many sports as well. It was probably the most rewarding job I had, and the only reason I am not still in that field is due to the different ways that States approach their care. I noticed that the adults who had more support growing up were generally higher functioning in the community later in life.

Jesus. Seeing both benches and the crowd surge onto the floor brought a tear to my eye. Very impressive and very moving.

Soon to be a major motion picture! ;)

Thats the single reason i was a mentor for mentally challenged teenagers in highschool, when they did something, they did it great, and it always made me smile.

Some of the nicest people i know have CP, or Autism.

The kid is autistic. His Wonderlic score has got to be through the roof!

He'd easily be the #1 QB taken in this year's NFL draft if that was his sport.

So.. what's all this guff about Wonderlich?

I looked it up, found some sample questions that looked easier than IQ tests I've taken (assuming you can have a pencil, since I don't tend to like solving algebraic equations in multiple terms in my head).
