It's one of the best silly movies ever. If you're looking for any level of substance, this movie isn't it. If you are just looking to laugh your nuts off at a bunch of gay guys dancing to jitterbug and spraying themselves with gasoline whilst drinking orange mocha frappucinos, THIS IS THE FUCKING FILM THERE IS NO OTHER.
This is a great, great movie that will win no awards, change no lives, and leave no meaningful impression, but it's still a great movie.

Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Ladies and gentlemen, do you like the pelt? Be honest, because some *bitch* stopped me on the way in. "What poor and unfortunate creature had to die for you to wear that?"
My Aunt Trudy, I replied. Walked away ladies and gentlemen, walked away!
When it comes to huge openings, a lot of people think of me.
I got kicked out of university after delivering a brilliant lecture on the aggressive influence of German philosophy on rock and roll entitled "You, Kant, Always Get What You Want".
Our apartment was so small, that mother made me play in the oven. Late at night I would listen to the voices of the American masters, Tony Tennille, Debby Boone, Anne Murray who was actually a Canadian working in the American idiom. And then there were the crypto-homo rockers: Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, David Bowie who was actually an idiom working in America and Canada. These artists, they left as deep an impression on me as that oven rack did on my face. To be an American in muskrat love, soft as an easy chair not even the chair, I am I said, have I never been mellow? And the colored girls sing... doo do doo do doo do doo... but never with the melody. How could I do it better than Tony or Lou... HEY BOY, TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE!
Hansel: Jesus says the darndest things.
Hedwig: [slaps Hansel] Don't you ever mention that name to me again.
Hansel: But he died for our sins.
Hedwig: So did Hitler!
Hansel: Eh?
Tommy: Do you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour?
Hedwig: No, but I love his work.

Epic, no question about it.
Most movies are mood movies, i dont think i can count the times i seen 10 min of a movie, then stopped because i wasnt in the mood to watch it, but Zoolander you can watch no matter what mood youre in, and will be in a better mood when youre done.
And i got 2 friends who were actually quoting several scenes from the movie BEFORE seeing it, havent seen anyone do that with other non-classic movies (some movies got quotes EVERYONE know, they dont count
).
And who cant love the former hand model with the conspiracy theories(no spoilers, im playing nice today), that was the ONLY actor who could have played that role
Oh, and ill admit to having Hedwig and the angry Inch on DVD too
. SAw it and found it funny, then saw it got a gold review on DVDreview.com, so ended up buying it
. That movie got some great lines
.
Your list still missing my favorite:

Not even close to epic. Epics are those you watch more than once and can quote half the movie. Hint: Office Space
Hell, Dodgeball was even better than Zoolander and Ben Stiller sucked in that movie as well. Liked him in Meet the Parents and There's Something About Mary though.

I remember my wife looking at me in the theatre and apologizing for making me go. During the film I was thinking that this is an epic pile of shit but after a few days I found myself laughing at memories of things that happened in the movie. I had to choose epic on this mainly because it still makes me laugh though I probably won't view the movie again or own it.
That's the way I felt about Napoleon Dynamite.Bubba Grizz wrote:I remember my wife looking at me in the theatre and apologizing for making me go. Too often it seems it is the peaceful and innocent who are slaughtered. In this a lesson may be found that it may not be prudential to be either too peaceful or too innocent. One does not survive with wolves by becoming a sheep.

I rest my case, vn_Tanc is beyound saving. Being John Malkovich rocked, when i saw it first time i had NO clue what it was about, actually thought it was a drama, and i started watching it while playing EQ, and when they reached floor 7½, i had to tell the guild that i had to log to see this wierd movie, not something you could watch while playingvn_Tanc wrote:Zoolander is:

I hate it nearly as much as I hate Being John Malkovich.
And mean i knew NOTHING about it, i recognized Cusack, but didnt notice it was Cameron Diaz before the credits.

Ben Stiller was on screen for maybe 20 minutes in Dodgeball. And how the crap was it better than Zoolander. Dodgeball was gorilla shit except for the scene where the coach throws a wrench or whatever at that kid.Winnow wrote:Not even close to epic. In other news,
For someone to call Zoolander shit would require an asshole tighter than a balloon knot.

I disagree. Wedding Crashers was a good movie, albeit slightly too long and Old School was awesome.Tenuvil wrote:Can say this about damn near any movie with Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, or Ben Stiller.[19:06] «Ebumar» i just get... disgusted after a while

So I was freeclimbing Mt Vesuvius, when I suddenly lost my grip, so I'm falling and falling, and then I start to think. Hey, havent you been smoking peyote for the last six days, and isnt it a possibility that this is all in your head? And it turned out I was right. I've never even been to Mt Vesuvius.

Ok, i phrased that badly, was 1 wrong word:
Being John Malkovich rocked, BEFORE i saw it first time i had NO clue what it was about
That should make it a lot clearer

Couple funny moments, overall complete crap. I've tried to watch it a couple times, only made it all the way through it once. All the comedy is far too cliched and overdone to actually be funny.
It's just not a funny movie, like most everything else Ben Stiller has been in.

Dodgeball was a really really bad movie but was still better than Zoolander.cadalano wrote: Ben Stiller was on screen for maybe 20 minutes in Dodgeball. And how the crap was it better than Zoolander. The problem with Ben Stiller is he isn't very versatile so we pretty much got all the laughs we were going to get out him from Something About Mary and Meet the Parents where he plays the role of. His roles in Zoolander and Dodgeball (especially dodgeball) were poorly casted. Along Came Polly was better than both of those movies (better meaning 4/10 as opposed to 2/10)
Rewatchability isn't a factor like it is for Napoleon Dynamite, Office Space, etc where the movie grows on you and you pick out additional bits the second viewing.
Zoolander sucked. Deal with it. Stiller seems to be using his wife for parts a little too much these days as well...I smell a Clint Eastwood situation where he keeps using the same lady. That doesn't mean there weren't a few funny "make fun of the gay model" parts in it.
