Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have It So Much Better

Post by Zamtuk »

This cd is the shit. Just as good as the last one, maybe even a little bit better. If you liked the first one, I highly recommend this. Not sure if you can download it, but it is available to listen to in its entirety at mtv.com. The actual cd itself comes out tuesday.

Ok it looks like I missed the whole album playing. However I did watch a bunch of their regular and live videos. After watching those I think this band should really make a live album. GREAT performances. I got to listen to what seems like the first single off the album "Do you want to." I'm gonna have to reserve my judgement on this one though. Its not very catchy to me at the moment. However with their last album, "take me out" didnt really stick in my head untill I heard "this fire." So i'm gonna wait untill I have the whole album.

Bought the album today and gave it a good listening. WOW is all I have to say. This album is fucking amazing. You got fast songs, slow ones, and everything in between. Everything about this album is awesome. I highly sugest it to anyone!

Hey if you dig them then that's cool, I guess I just don't like them because I think their music is meaningless pointless corporate drivel entirely designed to capture the prevailing "art-rock" (lol) fad that's happening over here.

With the sort of media support that would make Fox's coverage of the Republican party seem lazy these guys have been able to swing 10 year old Pop girls to 18 year old emo girls into tasteless jibbering mockeries of their already gormless selves.

The thing is, when you see top artists being left behind by shallow pricks like these solely due to the media pumping us with the usual "OMG BUY THIS ITS COOL" (I dunno if it's like this in the USA with them, it just is here) whilst neglecting to do the same for music with um....style and quality, well.....that just pisses me right the fuck off.

Rant off, and enjoy what you like, I felt like a vent.

Funny, I dont notice this band getting a huge amount of attention here in the US. I guess its different over there.

That shitty art-rock music over there in the UK flourishes over here in the states!

oh god, the irony of this album title bowls me over.
they should have called it 'you could have such a better album in your hand right now'.
seriously, ignore all the hype and whatever everyone is saying, take a step back from this cd, and see this band for what they really are.
average, in every way.

Why so much hate for Franz Ferdinand?

Good catchy pop tunes.

Catchy pop tunes have their place. Sometimes you'd much rather put on an Armageddon* than a Schindler's List. So to speak.

It's not like writing good catchy pop tunes is a skilless endeavour. It's hard. Witness the number of people failing at it.
