Got a couple... however, I am an advocate for whores and crackdealers, so...

Lower back tats on chicks is total valley-porn, but sometimes it looks good. I dated this one gal that had a nice valley-porn tat of some seaturtles that was very well done and NOT SO BIG! I have been thinking of getting a little work done, but I need to sit down and do some sketches first.

I hate tramp stamps, and all other "fashionable" tattoos. Like getting the ideogram for "western idiot" tattooed on yourself.

I've got a few, most are 15-25 years old. Don't care what others do as long I get to laugh at them. Tribal tattoos, japanese lettering, etc.. are good for a giggle on anglos.

I heard someone compare those lower back tattoos to putting a bumper sticker on a Rolls Royce. Think of when they sag a few inches after 30 years or so as well.. /shudder

it would be a tatoo with a purpose or meaning behind it instead of like something stupid like a tribal armband or a fuckin butterfly.

They all have a purpose, mostly "I hate my daddy" or "I'm insecure and looking for a way to make myself more interesting". Of course, no one here has a tatt for either of those reasons :)

I don't have any, but I don't have any issues with them. I think people who make snarky comments and peer down the end of their nose at people who have tattoos are far, far, far more obnoxious than the tattoo'd folks themselves.

I've thought of a few designs but nothing that I like enough to go through with. My favorite ideas were two ravens on different sides of my chest and ivy growing up my spine. I love facial and neck tattoo's, but those would be a poor decision given the current business attitude toward body art.

If it was more acceptable, I would definitely think about getting a full-body design of some sort.

I've also always dreamed of convincing someone to tattoo their entire nose black. That would be hilarious.

Tatoo's such as tribal or japanese lettering are terrible, what a way to ruin your body with such garbage.

I'm fine with people who get a tatoo due to an event in their life or if it's expressing yourself as a person, but anything other than that is trailer trash.

I've wanted a tattoo since I was in my 20's, I waited a hell of a long time to finally get one. Do I regret it? No, in fact I have been thinking about how to add to it.

EDIT: Oh Cane, don't you have a Bronco's tat?

I have 2, one on my upper back that is pretty elaborate but full of significance (a crescent moon since my name, Leila, means "night" in arabic, the symbol for virgo in the middle of the crescent, and these twisty thorny vines coming out on either side that are symbolic of the crown of thorns, oh and I have a scripture tattooed underneath all that from corinthians 8:13 - "love never fails" -- yes I believe that, and I could write a lot about it but it's just my perspective) it looks better than it sounds and I got it when I was 20 .. the one below here is my first tat, got it at 17 since I swear my bellybutton looks just like the little body of a butterfly :P

I'd totally throw one in you. Provided you haven't birthed a litter in the years since that picture was taken. Why'd you cut the head off, is your grill messed up or something? I apologize if that sounds rude, but I'm an Adonis and I need to know these things.

Have one on my right shoulder drawn by a friend of mine.

I am all for tattoos as long as people don't overdo it. They can look very nice, but then again too much or faded ones look horrible.

I don't have any, but I gotta tell ya that I love the perspective of "Everyone else's tatoos are stupid, white trash, insignificant, unoriginal, ect......excpte mine, which are cool and meaningful". Get over yourself. It's a tatoo. Having one does not make you some sort of unique individual, no matter how many times you tell yourself it does. Everyone and thier mother has one. Accept it.

If I did get one, I'd get a shoulder to shoulder on my back and shoulder to bicep mini sleeves on both arms. That way, I could wear a t-shirt and no one would know I have a tatoo. I don't make a habit of walking around with my shirt off since I'm pasty white. I don't know what designs I would get, but no skulls, death, or such would make the list.

I like that particular butterfly. I like tattoos that incorporate pre-existing features of the body.

If I was a female, I would absolutely get a sun tattoo'd on one of my breasts, with the nipple as the center. I would probably do that as a male if I didn't have a hairy chest. But I do.

I only have a little blue devil smoking a cigar and holding a rifle. It's awful and I wish I never got it. I did it because my wife, girlfriend at the time, wanted me to get one with her and I thought I needed to be "cool".

It's not that I regret gettign one, it's that I regret getting that particular one. I wish I would have gotten something that more represents me, but at 20 years odl, I had no idea at all what I was.

It's funny though, cause the book of the bible that supports homo bashing, and most of the hard-line christian fundamentals, makes tattoos a sin.

It's against jewish law to get a tatt because of that part of Leviticus, which makes the growing number of jewish people that get tattoos to show jewish pride rather comical. Like Rich Voss; jewish, comedian, tattoo enthusiast, tool.

Only orthodox jews follow the tenets of Leviticus. you might as well make fun of jews that don't grow their hair at their temples.

Well, yes and no. If non-orthodox rabbi will shun jewish men that marry gentiles, I'd be less than surprised if a good deal of them don't care for tattoos much. The holocaust didn't really improve their view of tattoos either.

There's an element of trolling on this thread, but that's just because I really hate tattoos...

In much the same way that the people that have tattoos don't care what I think about it, I don't care what they think of me either, so we're all happy!

there are levels of orthodoxy in judaism. a non orhodox rabbi would still follow the torah, which forbids jews from marrying a gentile that doesn't convert first. there's nothing in the torah about tattoos and other crazy old testament crap.
