Chasing Amy was an awesome flick. Those guys make just ridiculously good movies.
Pulp Fiction deserves a place in the top 5 movies of all time, period.
Sixth Sense is up there.
Adelrune : Better off Dead was just a hilarious freaking movie. Mention the 80s teen movies, everyone talks about Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, Weird Science, yada yada, but my favorite was always Better off Dead.
While Field of Dreams was a very good movie, anything else with Kevin Costner in it almost unequivocally spells DISASTER. Well, Tin Cup was OK. I just remember yanking Dances With Wolves out of my VCR 1/4 of the way into it and storming into Blockbuster demanding my money back.

LotR
Blade Runner (DC)
Unbreakable
Godfather II
Resevoir Dogs/Dogma - hard to pick which I want to add to the list. Both Directors somehow need on there, and IMO those are their two best, respectively.
Better Off Dead was not good enough to make a generic top 5 list, but I do agree, if you move into Comedy it and A Christmas Story are two of my favourites of that genre.

Not in any particular order, but in the top 5:
Matrix,
LOTR,
Koyaanisqatsi (may be spelled wrong)
We were soldiers,
Harold and Maude,

I couldn't limit my favorite films down to such a small number, but here are five films you won't forget.
Disclaimer: These aren't my very favorite films, just up there with some of them, and these are the ones that are popping into my head right now.
One flew over the cuckoos nest
Pulp Fiction
The evil deads (for cheese factor alone)
Rain Man
Clockwork Orange
Any Kevin Smith film (since its been discussed) is awesome, especially Chasing Amy.
There are so many to choose, grrr!
