I'm gonna be taking a little vacation to Australia in a month or 2, was wondering if anyone had some advice on what to do / see while I'm there.
- I'm 22, I drink / party, etc
- Going with 1 or 2 other guys, so looking for stuff that's fairly exciting and not too too expensive
- I'll be there for 1-2 1/2 weeks
- I probably won't have a rental car
aaand go
thanks!

Seems like a long way to fly to drink and chase skirt. =)
Arb's probably correct in that you might as well hit a tourist trap like the Gold Coast, can't say I've ever been though. You'll find good rooms are more expensive than in the US, beer is cheaper, booze is more expensive.
It's safe to try the vegemite, you just need to get a local to spread it.

Make sure you knock up some of the locals while you're there to cut down on the inbreeding! Women will drop their panties just at the sound of your American accent. (jk, and a reference to "Love Actually" movie starring Hugh Grant where a Brit goes to the U.S. and gets all the women solely based off his accent)
Cairns and some Great Barrier Reef scuba action are is good place to check out.

It's true though, well... if women rated men on a points system it would be worth 2 pointsWinnow wrote:Women will drop their panties just at the sound of your American accent. Seems to be the same with "exotic" accents everywhere though..

/veto on vegemite that shit is pure evil, from the 8th dimension...but I did develop an addiction to Lime Jelly on my toast...Oh and Leatherwood Honey from Tasmania (which is rather like licking honey from the armpit of a pricey french call girl)

I'm sure there are many, many nude gay beaches for you and your two asspals to get funky on.

Thanks yall. I live in South Korea so it's not really that far to go. Gold Coast sounds like it has the kinda crap I'll wanna do. Was that the place that had all those white supremacist riots? I'm a black kid, I don't wanna get my ass kicked when I'm drunk downtown.
Clatis - I'm a cert. diver, so if there's a good place to dive I'll probly wanna do that. As far as sights and stuff, I'd prefer outdoors nature type things to look at. Good clubs / places to drink would be cool.

You have the uhh what's it called... Great Barrier reef... the only living organism viewable from space. so if you're a diver and haven't been there yet, definately go. Sydney, there's a side of town (I'll get back to you with a name) but it's the "trashy" side of town, it's literally strip club, strip club, strip club, liquor store, strip club, liquor store, stip club, and a random mcdonalds. I'd reccamend taking the subway to it. Then of course while you're in Sydney the opera house is a must see, and you should look into doing the bridge climb over Sydneys harbor bridge, it starts at like 7am but it is worth it, you go to the top of the bridge and walk across with a group. If you want to see one of the randomest, but interesting things, head out to the middle of Australia and check out Uluru, it's a GIANT rock that's in the middle of the desert you can climb up to the top of, and as the sun goes across the sky it changes colors (esp at night fall and morning) during the day it's mostly red. A GREAT city to visit for a weekend or so is Cairns. The "downtown" is basically ALL clubs/bars that are indoors/outdoors, live bands, the city fuckin rocks, a good bar there is shenanigans and sometimes the woolshed can get crazy.
Let me think of some more stuff, Australia is fuckin tits to visit. I want to live there.

No, the riots were in/around Sydney in NSW, a couple thousand km's from the Gold Coast in QLD.
They were also targetting wogs, "black kids" shouldn't have much problem in Australia. While it's true that we don't have a great relationship with the Aboriginals, that's got more to do with stealing the country from them a couple hundred years ago than their skin colour. We think all black (negro) people are hip and have massive genitalia.
There's some fantastic diving around that area, a lot of it so shallow and warm that you only need a very light wetsuit and can stay in a long while because you don't have to go deep. Great Barrier Reef for example, for that you'd want to fly into Cairns. There's also organised shark dives (mostly grey nurses), wreck dives, etc. But you might find you have to travel around a bit if you wanted different dives.
Oh, and make sure to pack your dive card/log book or you might have to do a course here.

I went there with my dad a few years ago. I'd say for nightlife definately go to Cairns or Sydney. We didnt get to go to the GC, so i don't know anything about over there.
In terms of uh...ladies, i'd say you cant go wrong in Australia. Tons of beautiful women everywhere. They're like kangaroos..

i am a liberal.
Australia has sooo many hot chicks, the only fat ones there were like from the US. but, definately go to Cairns like Moo and I said, you'll prolly end up stayin at least a weekend and a few days there cuz it's a sweet city, I think they had a bunch of open markets that were awesome, but i might be thinkin of somewhere in New Zealand. I remember Cape Tribulation (middle of no where, like 3 hut-style resort like places a minisupermarket + pharmacy and a bar is in the city, like a 2 or 4 hour drive from Cairns, go there if you wanna walk a mile out into the ocean and still only have it come up to your waist. plus komono dragons or whatever the big lizards are there.
