So my Windows XP disc got wet during the hurricane, and the shiny holographic crap on the one side ran all over the data side, and is not readable.
Mysteriously, every single one of the other ~1000 CDs I own survived the deluge just fine, but not Windows.
For max irony, the pirated 98 disc I've had since SE first came out still works just fine

I spoke to 3 different dot-heads with no luck. I actually got into an argument about my status as an original equipment manufacturer with the one guy. Makes me wanna take up the eye patch and bird-on-the-shoulder again. ARRRR!
