Goddamn that was an awesome episode. You can tell the old Apollo has something more going on than just simple involvement with the black market. He's definitely involved with the whackjobs who want to surrender to the cylons (who are ironically led by one).
Gaius has become more dangerous than I could have imagined. Between giving 6 a fucking nuke and growing a spine and standing up to the President, his character has really come a long way in just a few episodes.

Heh, I knew Apollo was going to pull the trigger... he had too, he was different than his old man too
But of course he pretty much got rid of the number 2 guy so that the old Apollo could run everything...
My prediction is that Gaius will be gone, at least from the fleet by the end of the season. He and chick we head back to look for Cylons and blow something up (the Pegasus is my guess). Then look for him to return as a base star commander 3rd season... wait... deja vu? You are right on the character dev though, my oldest son was continaully asking me to "watch this" as he jumped off the couch so I missed what the President said to him, did she confront him about the Cylon chick thing?

She didn't confront him exactly, she gave him the "opportunity" to resign and focus himself on his studies.
And isn't it legal to shoot your kids with tranq darts where you live?

SPOILER WARNING NEXT TIME!!!!
I started to read this thread as I was pulling BSG off of my TIVO... I read the first line of Marbs post and was like, oh, so this guy dies... as the opening scene started...
Bastards! Heh, damn good episode though...
Why would you think that Apollo is in with the ones that want to surrender?.. Im not seeing that... he just has different opinions than his father and acts on what he thinks is right.
