Underworld: Evolution (2006)

Post by Winnow »

Anyone seen it yet? I read a few reviews and they mostly say that the sequel is better acted and a better overall movie than the original.

It's #1 at the box office so someone must have seen it. Need some reviews!

Saw it.

Heh. It had sooo much potential. But dropped the ball. I thought it was OK. Sylvos thought it was HORRIBLE. Cheese factor was high.

Can't be worse than Transporter 2 in the cheese department.

That's not really saying much, Pee-wee's Big Adventure was better than the original.

Don't be hatin on Pee-Wee!

That this piece of shit is #1 at the box office shows two things:
1. Hollywood is shoveling nothing but shit out.
2. Goths and Emokids are fucking stupid and like it up the ass.

Er, the original what? Pee-Wee's Big Adventure was the original of that franchise. Big Top Pee-Wee was the sequel.

I think he was comaring the original Underworld to Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.

I liked it. Yes it could have been better. If it showed more of the history of the 2 clans, that would have made it that much better.

Over all out of a 10 I give it a 7.

Oh, I see now. My mistake, I read it incorrectly.

I enjoyed it, but I went into it just expecting to have fun watching vampires and lycans fighting + some skin based off the trailer.

If you are looking for a movie with a deep storyline and intense acting than I'd go see something else, but for what it is I thought UW2 was a good movie.

Kinda.

Anyway, if you look at the UW movies for what they are (primarily action flicks w/ "some horror") they work very well. I'd probably put it in the 7/10 area as well.

One thing though; Did anyone else notice *really* bad digital sheering/bluring whenever the camera panned? Like when you're playing a game at 15 FPS and the image appears to move in obvious discreet intervals across the screen.

I'm not sure if it was digitally filmed or if the theatre had a ditigal projector... but it looked fucking awful.

I never saw anything like that when I watched it Zaelath, may have just been your theater or a bad copy.

Personally I thought the special effects were perfectly good. I'm sure they could have been better but it's not like they had the budget of a LoTR or Spiderman movie to do them with.

If you take the movie for what it is and don't go in expecting something truly amazing I think you will enjoy them. However, if you didn't like UW1 there is no reason you would like UW2, but I thought the second one was better so if you did enjoy the first than check this one out.
