Sucked.
Yes there where some good movies, but I ended up going to the theater a lot less then most years. I think most of it was do to crappy audiences that kept me away from so-so movies.
I am guessing only around 5-10 trips this year
Movie going last year

I think I went to the movies three times last year. Maybe two.
my reasons for not going much anymore:
-waiting in lines
-travel time to and from theater
-price, prefer to pay for DVD
-the overall experience is better at home with a nice Home Theater setup
-germs, seriously, it's a snot and cough fest these days
-noisey people
-bathroom breaks for long movies
-stinky people
-projector focus issues
-sound issues
hmmm, I'm sure there's more.

ive seen too many movies last year to count, but i will agree, they are getting worse and worse. however, the one thing i dont seem to come in contact with nearly as much as anyone else is noisy people, babies, etc. i usually wait and buy up dvds like crack, but if i get excited to see a movie, im too impatient to wait.

Since my kids have gotten older we've started going to the movies again after a 15 year hiatus.
Some movies I'll go to the theater for, that great big screen is fantastic for action\sci-fi movies. The audience reactions add to it on a lot of movies, though one squeeling baby or jackass teen can hose it up. Some bad movies are pretty good at the theater, the experience is a lot different from watching it at home. Chronicles of Riddick was great in the theater for instance, sucks at home though.

I am a matinee person. I don't go to movies during prime times unless it is on like a Monday night when it is dead. Too many damn people. I am one of those assholes who will take up a seat with a coat. I also won't move in when people ask me to mainly because I got to the movie at the right time and I shouldn't have to move because dipshit comes in during the previews. Other than that I am a pretty nice guy.
I do Netflix as well.
I went and saw:
Kingdom of Heaven
Batman Begins
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
SW Ep3
Wedding Crashers
Kong
Narnia
Out of those All of them except Wedding Crashers are what I consider 'theater flicks'. I try to go on off days and catch a matinee when I can, but it still sucks. I dont know if its from feeling ripped off, paying for a crap movie (most of the time), noisy people ect.. it all sucks.
