I prefer MapQuest.

That's a good one, too.

I like Google best because the API is free and you can do a lot of really neat stuff with it. I checked into using MapQuest and they wanted $5,000 a year for the "basics" ... riiiiight.

Example of the coolness of Google Maps!

I have map point at work because it works in conjunction with our software, and I can say after messing with it, its so much better than any of the online free ones its not even funny.

That being said if I ever needed to look something up at home i would use google, I wouldnt pay whatever the price is microsoft charges for the map point software.

Google Maps, and all the open source extensions people have developed, is the most innovative. There are serious issues with the freshness of the map data they use...whole neighborhoods and main streets are missing from my local area, even the street I live on isn't there :(

One of the best Google Maps hacks out there is Gmap-Pedometer, an interactive tool that allows you to plot a course for cycling/running/etc, showing the ongoing mileage of your course. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/

Mapquest is decent for getting a general idea of where your going. I haven't tried the others to see if they are any better; I've started just calling where I'm going and getting directions from them. :P
