Ide like to see it but I get worried. The style that made the animated show so great is VERY hard to replicate in live action in my opinion. The preview doesnt look too good but they hardly show much at all in it.

the trailer makes me worry a bit... they depart from the storyline but they include specific elements from the animated series. why not just write something completely new if you're going to screw it up? i'll still see it though... aeon flux is my favorite animated series, and i <3 peter chung.

I am planning on seeing it. I don't remember the mtv series all that well, but I think it looks like a good eye candy movie if nothing else.

i thought the trailer was cool. i liked the animated series on MTV, i thought it was always a bit confusing trying to figure out exactly what some of the relationships were, and whether i was supposed to think of them as a continueing series (ie i am pretty sure she died in a few of them - as well as that male character who was a lover/nemesis).

The trailer had more inconsequential one-liners than any I can remember in recent times. I don't remember any specifics (of course), but I've seen the trailer three times in theatres in recent weeks, and it gets worse with each subsequent viewing.

Not that I care to see this movie or care about it, but can you really say that? Have you seen the Doom trailer or the movie itself??? (trailer was enough for me, thanks)

For those interested. Peter Cheung has released the ENTIRE Aeon Flux collection in one set. It includes everthing, the pilot, the shorts, and both seasons. Can find it on amazon.

a decent movie if you know nothing about the animated series.

as for me, i died a little inside. i had low expectations going in, but when, in the first line, they pronounced Bregna as "bregg-nuh," any hopes i had of keeping the spirit of aeon flux alive in the movie were gone.

while i could deal with inconsistencies like aeon's multiple deaths in the animated series, there were too many things that were poorly misrepresented... the characters were nothing like they were in the series. i had hoped that they'd at least get aeon right, but the dialogue was seriously lacking... the banter between trevor and aeon was non-existent in the movie. i loved that in the series, good and evil were always grey areas so you were never sure which was which... i found the movie very trite and the characters and storyline archetypical. i have to say that charlize did do a good job in moving like aeon, and i liked the combat.

on a side note: they changed some of the dialogue in the aeon flux DVD box set. for some reason, they redid a few voices and changed a line or two here and there.

Haha. No, I haven't seen Doom, nor its trailer, but have heard wonderful bits about the "acting" it contains.

Been trying to download this and have gotten two files now named aeon flux 2005 or whatnot and they have been something totally different.

I wonder what people get out of being a fucking asshole and mislabeling something like that, cause it happens all the time.

If anyone has a link to a good quality torrent of this movie please let me know.

The MPAA seed these torrents quite deliberately....

I enjoyed this movie. Having not seen the Aeon Flux animated series, there was nothing to ruin for me.

The movie reminded me a little of Equilibrium and somewhat of Logan's Run.

I think I'll check out the animated series after seeing this.

79/100

Lack of character development outside of Aeon and maybe the chick with hands as feet keeps me from going higher.

Any movie that has an actor from the movie Hackers (Jonny Lee Miller) in it can't be all that bad either. Come to think of it, Charlize Theron kind of had an Angelina Jolie look to her in the movie. I wonder if that was the producer's first choice for the part.

The difference is that Equilibrium was a good movie and Aeon Flux was a super horrible movie. I would put it almost into the top 10 worst movies I have ever seen. Although there is nothing that can knock Battlefield Earth of the top spot.

Aside of 5th Element and Dazed and Confused, has Mila been in any good movies?

IMDB shows she made an appearance on Married with Children in 1989, Episode: Fair Exchange. Season 4, Episode 6. By default, that comes in 3rd.

I'm pretty sure she was in He Got Game, which to this day is what I say every time I see Ray Allen playing basketball.

That, and I always refer to him as Jesus Shuttlesworth.
