LOL same thing happened to us here
Hopefully, as you said, their offer to reship the tech tree is for out of country players, not just US.
How do you like the game so far, though?

Zoe: No one's gonna force you to go, Jayne. As has been stated -- this job's strictly speculative.
Jayne: Good. Cause I don't know these folks, don't much care to.
Mal: They're whores.
Jayne: I'm in.

Its right here, thats why i bought the game.
Download the game to see if its worth playing, if it is, buy the game
Same with movies (apart from me being too lazy to download movies, i just buy them if i know they worth buying, and wait for some of my friends to download them if its something i wanna see before buying

Exactly, and im proud of it. Make a game worth playing, and ill buy itNoysyrump wrote:And you sir are the reason computer game companies will not be able to continue creating worthless crap and still make money! its all your fault.Hesten wrote:Played it a little on a downloaded version, was fun so far, thats why i bought it
Basically i only got a few key demands for a game to be worth buying:
1. OVER 10 hours of play time in single player mode. (Gun for example was fun, but took like 9 hours to complete). Games like GTA or Pirates are examples of games thats great in that regard. Big and replayability.
2. Require some brain usage. Prefer adventures or RPGs. 3d shooters usually dont fall in this category.
3. Have a good plot. Max Payne for example.
4. NOT just be repetitive hack-n-slash. Diablo 1 was fun, but enough is enough. Bought Fables due to excellent reviews, and had a 17 hour game with a plot a 5 year old could have thought up, and just hack my way through mobs till done. BORING.
5. Come from known good developers or be part of a series of games. This not a must, and in case of the series part, not neccesarily a good thing, but having Ron Gilbert, Tim Shaefer, Jane Jensen, or (possibly) Sid Meyer on a game would make me buy it. I would also go out and buy a new Tex Murphy or Fallout game right away, whereas a Diablo 3 would be something i would look closely at first.
A game wont have to fill all these requirements, but the more the better of course. Get 3 or more, and ill most likely buy it if it get good reviews. Get 4 or 5 and i will buy it

Whee, they just changed their policy about the tech tree replacements, and made it US and canada only. Theres even still a "country" place on the form for it, that they forgot to remove.
Guess i payed 105$ (shipping and taxes) for a game i cant play in full due to french tech tree then, whee.
Remind me to never bother to buy a Firaxis game again.

I really like civ4.. but I suck at winning.
I can play a game for hours keeping peace with all my neigbors, and then lose to a space race victory every time. I lack the military aggression necessary, unless i use the worldbuilder and drop stacks of navy seals everywhere
