I came away from that video rather unimpressed. The whole point of Christmas lights is that it's something you can drive by and enjoy, not stand outside in the blistering cold for 5 minutes. Not to mention I would totally fucking hang my neighbor if I lived next door. The bursting of light flashing on and off combined with the loud music. STAB STAB STAB. Christmas is hellacious enough that I wouldn't need that shit every 5 minutes.

I've seen better. The lack of color and pure number of lights displayed was too lacking. Good video though.

Wow really impressive sequencing if it is sequenced and that wasn't shot stop motion. Prolly a professional lighting person.

the grass at the bottom flashes out of focus too often, looks like a bunch of synced stills rather than fluid video to me

still kudos for the whole work, I like the music even though it's not much christmasy

This is a better copy:

http://members.cox.net/transam57/lights.wmv

And for those not familiar with the music, it's Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Awesome to see them live, light show isn't bad, kudos for the technical setup.

did some digging and I'm thinking the number used in this clip is more rocky version possibly by Savatage, title same in both cases Christmas Eve(Sarajevo 12/24)

Well, musically there's very little difference. Both Savatage and TSO have Robert Kinkel, Jon Oliva, Paul O'Neill, Jeff Plate, Al Pitrelli, John Lee Middleton, and Chris Caffery.

You might say that TSO is Savatage plus some.

I heard the music on XM and it was ID'ed as TSO. I guess I'd never heard it before this video clip but I recognized it when it came on. It was on a Christmas channel XM is playing.

I didn't have the display set to show the title at the time so I didn't get that.

If you liked that clip you should see Trans-Siberian Orchestra live, their stage set is pretty damn cool.

Hey, is it try that this guy transmits the music via FM, so all you have to do is drive near it and tune your station to hear it why you watch the light show?

That I am not certain.....I will have to let you know when me and the wife go up there to see it. The police had him agree to only have it on from 6-10 pm due to traffic issues.

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra - whose music is featured in the light show - invited the family to attend its Cleveland performance Saturday where they received VIP treatment.
That's pretty cool. If they had used Metallica music they'd probably have been sued.

I don't have this year's show but I have a TSO performance off of CTV from maybe 2 years ago? I can probably host and post if anyone wants to see.

Well Aslanna, you were close.. but they're not quite being sued. They did get in trouble though. Apparently it's not faked at all.

DEERFIELD TWP. — Sheriff's deputies asked the owner who lit up his house with 25,000 Christmas lights synched to music to turn off the display after a traffic accident Tuesday night.

Deerfield Twp. resident Carson Williams agreed to shut down his holiday decorations indefinitely.

Williams told a Cincinnati television station that sheriff's deputies could not reach the traffic accident because of the traffic lined up in his neighborhood.

The display caught attention across the nation on network TV and on the Internet because the lights on the Williams house and filling their yard are synchronized by computer with music broadcast to car radios. There are three songs in the 12-minute display: Frosty the Snowman by the Jackson 5; God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood and Wizards of Winter by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Williams turned his display on the week of Thanksgiving and motorists have lined up between 6 and 10 p.m. ever since.

For the time being, the only place to view the Williams' display will be online.

"He told us if we start having traffic problems that he would shut the display down for a while," Warren County sheriff's Lt. Ed Petrey said Wednesday morning.

Two cars collided in a minor accident at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on Simpson Creek Drive, which leads to Winding Creek Court, where the Williams live near Mason in southern Warren County. No one was injured.

Williams is an electrical engineer who said his family spent about $10,000 on the display. He had promised his neighbors they would shut it down if there were problems.

"If I get a single complaint I'll shut it down," Carson had said Monday night.

He could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

Yeah because anything less than THIRTY THOUSAND lights is slacking.
