Sartori wrote:I bought the DVD series over this last weekend partly based on this thread, and partly based on some of my friends watching the recent re-runs. I am not a TV watched, and I have never had any interest in Buffy/Angel or any of that stuff. After watching the first few episodes though I am there with Noel, can't wait for the movie :)
The Firefly episodes get even better as they go IMO. There's another upturn IMO around episode 9 or so (third DVD)

Bump time,. finally got time to see the first episode of the series, seems nice so far, think im gonna see hte rest of the show this week.

Oh, and are the movie timeline after the show stops? Seems like the first episode in the series (Serenity) kinda collide with the start of the movie (saw the first 9 min).

The first few minutes of the movie is a flashback, the movie mostly takes place a bit (thinking like 6-9monthish) after the end of the series.

Ahh, oki, great. Those 9 min was enough to get me hooked. The trailer didnt even do that :)

And while were at it, looked at the DVD, and noticed that the episode lists there are different than my ripped version. Should the correct order be:
1. Serenity
2. The Train Job
3. Bushwacked
4. Shindig
5. Safe
6. Our Mrs Reynolds
7. Jaynestown
8. Out Of Gas
9. Ariel
10. War Stories
11. Trash
12. The Message
13. Heart Of Gold
14. Objects In Space

Need to see a few more episodes, but think im gonna buy the DVD, very fairly priced it seems.

That looks about right. The first episode (Serenity) is two hours with the rest being 1 hour.

And whee, Serenity came in the theaters here in DK today.

Should i hold a big Firefly marathon and see it all this weekend, or just go see the movie first, then the rest of the series?

You'll appreciate the movie more if you watch the series first. Do you have the TV series downloaded or on DVD yet? Give yourself a week to watch those and then go see the movie.

There is a timeline and the movie comes after the series. You can watch the movie first but I will make note of it and you will NEVER be allowed to become an officer in any Firefly/Serenity fan club if you do!
