Just got home from watching it.

I thought it was fucking great. It's incredibly graphic. I'm actually surprised it only got an R rating. I also laughed my ass off quite a few times, but I do have a somewhat unique sense of humor. That said, I absolutely love the camera work and the use of music throughout the film. I don't think it will get much recognition because it's a 'horror' film. But I think it's really brilliant.

It seemed like half of the theatre didn't really dig it, but then again, I'm pretty sure we were the only people in the theatre older than 17.

This is the sequel to House of 1,000 Corpses, right? I imagine it will garner the same fans and haters as that did. Except it was more like 75% of the people hated House and 25% loved it. I was indifferent. The movie borrowed a bit too much from every other horror movie out there IMO. It also had no real redeeming value. It was just full of disturbing imagery. I didn't hate it per say, I just thought many people have done the same thing only better in other movies.

I'm in no rush to see it at theaters but it's good to see someone with an opinion on it.

i really enjoyed it, too. there is a LOT more humor in this one than 1,000 corpses. other than that, a lot of the cinematic elements remain the same - unique camera work, flashbacks, inappropriate music during certain scenes, etc.

it really wasn't as gory as i'd expected either, after seeing these retarded reviews about "stab-you-in-the-throat horror" and whatnot. i definitely did some cringing, but the graphic violence was far from gratuitous. and when it did occur, you didn't feel like it was filler. it was there because those people are supposed to be fucking crazy and it was time for somebody to die.

I just watched this on DVD. Yeah, it had that 'Natural Born Killers' theme, but didn't borrow too much. This is not a horror movie, despite some of the gore.

I found the second half of the movie oddly touching, since the antagonist and protagonists get flipflopped a bit. Zombie has a ways to go to win over some critics and movie fans, but I think he has come a long way as a director and writer. I look forward to his next film.

Didn't like the 'Thelma & Louise'-styled ending? wtf. Sure there was no fade-to-white, but wtf?

I just finally saw house of 1000 corpses last week sometime. I wasn't impressed at all to say the least. It was almost like watching a hour and a half long marilyn manson video.
