I don't understand the relation of how eyes affect a smile. I can see, obviously, that people are successful in finding reasons as to why they could be indicative of whether or not a smile is real, but I simply cannot. What is there to look for? Is it a matter of looking for a certain glimmer, or something else physically oriented? Or is it not among the lines of physical means, but rather a feeling generated by simply looking into the eyes?

I read something on it once in a magazine (I think it was cosmo or vogue or something so its not like it was popular science). they spoke to some photographers and eye specialists about how someone's eyes change when their mood changes suddenly. if its a fake smile your mood doesnt really change, but if you see or think of something that is amusing your mood lightens and your eyes change. that is why photographers always try and make you laugh when they are taking a casual picture of you.Leonaerd wrote:I don't understand the relation of how eyes affect a smile. It's something to do with the iris diaphragm opening up with more color and less black.

17 out of 20...
My skills at "spot the looney" are just about 100% correct on the first impression too
People's eyes "light up" why they're really happy, facial expressions don't seem forced either. You can spot someone lying almost every time the same way with some practice. Really good liars are few and far between.Leonaerd wrote:Is it a matter of looking for a certain glimmer, or something else physically oriented?

got 19 out of 20, missed number 3.
If you read the description at the bottom it pretty much explains how to distiguish the two. In most cases its easy (i thought atleast) to determine which is fake or not because when someone smiles for real, their whole face gets involved in the smile not just their mouth.

I got 15 of 20, because I guessed a few real smiles were fake. I have a very distrusting nature.
