In Minnesota In school sports and activities are being cut everyday, For a child to be in Football or Hockey it cost the parents hundreds of dollars during the school year in extra fees and even more if you want your kids in a offseason program. But Minneapolis decides to fund a speacial school for the Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato crowd?

OMG, you mean you have to pay extra for extracurricular activities?Cartalas wrote:In Minnesota In school sports and activities are being cut everyday, For a child to be in Football or Hockey it cost the parents hundreds of dollars during the school year in extra fees and even more if you want your kids in a offseason program. Fuck extracaricular activities, schools are simply trying to keep thier heads above water! Schools in Michigan and other states are starting to discuss a possible 4 day school week in order to cut down on administration costs. This article touches base on it a bit:
http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a ... 006/NEWS01
I'm thinking State employees in Michigan will be going to a 4 day work week sooner rather than later. My father works in the capital and people there are already bracing for the possibility.
The USA has the most fucked up priorities of any nation in the history of the world. Our leaders would rather invade and occupy a sovereign nation than invest that money, our money, back into our country. We can't afford national health care, but we can drop a couple hundred billion on Iraq. Our schools cannot afford to run, but we can give tax breaks to Exxon. It just pisses me off.
http://nationalpriorities.org/index.php ... Itemid=182
Maybe that will help put some perspective on things.

its pretty basic people.
Rich people don't want to pay for your kids to get educated - beyond what is necessary to keep their lawns mowed, cars detailed, food served warm, children raised properly, etc.
Its like this in the US: if you want an excellent education, you'll pay for it. Either at a private school, or in an elite neighborhood through property taxes that do not leave that school district.
so either get rich or get busy making a plan for how to get rich. cause otherwise, nobody gives a fuck about you.

Sure, no problem. I think it was basically the punctuation and run on sentences that were making it hard for you to read.Cartalas wrote:In Minnesota In school sports and activities are being cut everyday, For a child to be in Football or Hockey it cost the parents hundreds of dollars during the school year in extra fees and even more if you want your kids in a offseason program. There was no translation I could find for 'the Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato crowd'.In Minnesota, school sports and activities are being cut every day. For a child to be in football or hockey it costs the parents hundreds of dollars during the school year. Additionally, there are extra fees and costs if you want your kids in an off-season program.
How is it that now, Minneapolis decides to fund a special school for the Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato crowd?
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.
Not true! I have no problem paying for my children's education, what I have a problem with is the fact that 50% of every Tax dollar in Minnesota goes to education but yet they keep cutting programs. Now to top it off they open a High School in Minneapolis just for gay teenagers, Why?Voronwë wrote:its pretty basic people.

Jesus, isn't that the truth. My town and the town next to us just plain rake in the cash on our property. 9k+ annual property taxes on 50x100 lots, beauty! However, they are ADDING programs to our schools all of the time. If you drive your car around the schools in my town on a Saturday you can witness the mayhem firsthand.Voronwë wrote:Its like this in the US: if you want an excellent education, you'll pay for it. I'm still not sure I understand the relationship between homosexuality and Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato.
And this also begs the question, if you put mayonnaise on on a BLT, why don't you call it an MBLT? And why don't you mention the bread, and call it a BBLT? Explain this please!

So, your saying you want the homos closer to you and your kids? They can't make you god fearing pucker factors happy no matter what, can they.
But seriously, there should be no special school for gays anymore than their should be for blacks, women, or poor. Public Schools that is.... If someone wants to open the Cartalas School of Pole Smoking, thats their business, but publicly funded schools should have no segregation at all. You conservatives have only yourselves to blame, however. If you weren't such intollerant homophobes, this seperate school never would have existed, but since you can't handle a few queers mixed in with your kids, this whole ludicrous thing got started. Only in Minnesota do you have abundant incest that no one cracks down on, but the minute someone takes a shot in the mouth, they get shipped off to their own school.
There is amazing comedy potential in this, though. I wonder what sort of mascot and school colors these special schools have. I wonder if the attendees wear their school jackets out and about the town and how things are at sporting events against other schools? Who does all the cheerleading? These thoughts amuse me.

War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."
Dwight Eisenhower

A specifically gay school sounds like catering to the minority to me, and the last time someone did something like that it was turned rapidly into full blown segregation.
Amazing how fast people forget history, anyone else ever heard of "separate but equal" and remember how fucked up that was? Gay people should fear this school, and straight people should wonder how long it is before whichever minority they are is the next to be singled out.
BTW Cartalas the BLT reference is sad.

Yeah that makes sense dumbass, I can see it now the white kids in a inner city school get their own High school, Or the minoritys in the suburbs get their own school so they dont get picked on.kyoukan wrote:So worthless white trash rejects like you don't gather in packs of 10+ and beat the shit out of them because of the fear they have for their own repressed homo-erotic tendencies.Cartalas wrote:Not true!
