Anyone know how to get glue from a super sized rat trap (from where I work) out of poor little Captain Jack's paws? (9 wk old yellow lab)....He's a very sad pirate :(

On a guess, I would say to dilute some solvent (find the least harmful) and use a brush to apply it to the glue to soften it up and see if you can't get it off after it softens.

But that's really a guess, and I would suggest listening to someone more qualified than I.

Find out who made the trap and request the MSDS of the glue. Then research how to remove it.

Or you can dilute some paint thinner or OOPS / GoofOff, etc and work on the paws.

Safe bet would be to take the dog to the Vet and not listen to a bunch of people you don't know from VV ;)

WD-40 is also a pretty good glue remover. It is also probably not as harsh or toxic as thinners or goof-off removers.

I'd take him to the Vet. Let the experts deal with it safely!

This may call for amputation but a wooden pegleg would fit with the pirate theme......

Is he actually in pain? If it's more of a nuisance to him and he's not irritating it himsefl you may be better off just leaving it to come off on it's own.

Try Ethyl Alcohol...relatively non-toxic but do rinse well...Cheap vodka for instance...

Thanks for all your suggestions (except the peg leg!) -- I cut off what i could which was all but inbetween the pads on his 2 front paws. Going to try and get to that tomorrow.

My husband didn't even get mad...but he did laugh at your peg leg idea!

I see you're from Roswell, GA. We all know about Roswell, NM. What's Roswell, GA most known for?
