I just watched the pilot episode and it was awesome. Not sure why I never had seen the show before. It's really quite good.

Serenity is the movie continuation of Joss Wedon's series Firefly. Firefly was cancelled after only 14 episodes sadly, but has done very well with its DVD release so they made a movie. If it does well then they plan on making more.

Firefly was on Fox right? Fox has a track record has canceling good shows to fill in a spot for some shit reality show.

If you watched the Making of Firefly documentary I linked on the other Serenity thread (no the other one!), Whedon made Kaylee gain 20 pounds to play the part. (and she looked good anyway) She's Canadian so I'm sure it wasn't hard...just add a little more fat to the Canadian Bacon strips! It looks like she lost the weight for the movie

Kaylee has some of the best one liners in the movie. Inara (the high priced call girl) doesn't get a lot of time in the first Serenity movie. Whedon admitted he had to focus on fewer characters in a 2 hour time slot so Inara would get more attention in a sequel. Inara's best episode was "Our Mrs. Reynolds".
