The flash site is pretty much the best movie promo site I have ever seen. Very nice.

Im not a fan of burton. I don't like how everything has to be dark with him. To me, this movie just seems like a recycled and altered version of A nightmare before christmas. I also will admit that I liked him less after he turned a good childrens movie like Willy Wonka into his own dark, fucked up creation.

There is a far cry of a difference between in your face fucked up like Tim Burton does, And the very undertoned issues in the original.

I wanted to see someone just remake a modern version of the movie, without putting their twist on it.

Im not sure youll ever find a modern re-make without the creator's twist on it. true, most of burton's films are set with the dark, gothic theme; but looking back on films like the batman duo, scissorhands, and hollow, I wouldnt have wanted them any other way. remember the batman movies/shows were in the 60s(ish) with fat adam west running around in broad day-light? from what Ive read, that was the furthest from kane's intentions. burton was the first to get it right, imo.

if you'd like burton without the dark/gothic elements, I highly recommend big fish. it ranks third on my burton list (under batman and nightmare, of course). excellent story-telling, great acting (it even has buscemi!), and a false-reference to my school (sororities dont have houses at auburn).

Ive yet to see wonka, btw...so I cant comment further on it.

I liked big fish, because it was completely non- Burtonish.

Big Fish was totally Burton'ish... it just wasnt as dark... his ability to create surreal environments is way up there on my list... course I havent seen Wonka yet either :)

Lol, youre the first i ever heard of that think Big Fish was non-Burtonish.
I liked it BECAUSE it was so Tim Burton, you could see parts and ideas of his earlier movies.
Spectre (the first visit that is) are taken out of Edward Scissorhands, love that exaggerated 60'es american suburb.

awesome film. well-casted voice-overs, nice cinematography, fairly decent score, and at least a dozen references to former burton films.
9/10 :D
