Anyway, our whole god damn comics section on this board is full of pirated goods. The music forum is full of it, and the movies section gets movies periodically (recently: Family Guy Movie), and there's tons of PSP downloads in this very forum.

Miir, you're full of shit. Don't get all offended and act like this is the first time pirated software has ever been mentioned.

Furthermore, you claim to be "perfect" - you've never stolen a single song, downloaded a game, or a movie.. ..Oh wait..

On the topic of cable providers.
miir wrote:I'm not sure what my download restrictions are as I have never come close to hitting them.

I rarely download movies or games... the majority of my bandwith useage comes from playing games.
Hypocrite. You've done it, and you're just as much of a "thief" as anyone else on this board. And don't try to make up some excuse about "legal downloads" - between 1999-2003 as you bring up in your post, those types of downloads basically didn't exist on any sort of readily available level.

Game demos, dumbass.

So in my 4500 posts here, that's the best you can do?

Why would I watch a movie on my PC when I have a bigass TV in my living room? And my home PC doesn't even have a CD/DVD burner.

Keep trying...

Do you wan't me to post photos of my stacks of legitimate software, my massive CD collection, the boxes of my 5 PS2 games and a full directory tree on my computer?

How would that prove that you haven't downloaded copyrighted media in the past?

Umm because its free, and a tech savy guy like yourself should know how to make those movies on your computer play on your bigass tv.

Because I don't have to prove anything to a stupid kid like you.
My conscience is clear.

Umm because its free, and a tech savy guy like yourself should know how to make those movies on your computer play on your bigass tv.
I can walk down 1 flight of stairs and get a DVD from a 24 hour video shop. If I return it within 6 hours it costs me 1 dollar... which is less than the money I made in the time it took to type out this messgae.

And to be honest, I don't think I could be bothered to drop the cash on the cables I'd need to get a decent picture from my video card on my TV.... much less unhook my computer, lug it into the other room, hook it up to the TV to watch what would probably be some sub par quality pirated dvd.

One flight of stairs and one dollar makes much more sense to me.

Keep trying.

I'm with Miir on this whole debate (Silly me thinking this thread was actually about some game and not touching it till now...).

Regardless of ease, stealing is stealing. If you wanna know if you like a game, try the demo or go out and spend the 5 bucks to rent it.

Ok fine Miir you got me. What movies where you refering to downloading then? I am at a lost. I don't ever remember you explaining that.

The fact of the matter is you got caught red handed being a hypocrtical self righteous asshole. Who still can't fucking admit to illegally downloading copyrighted material.

Oh, let's see if I can remember what I was thinking two and a half years ago when I made that post.... I think we had a discussion about bandwidth caps and being that movie/game downloads are usually responsible for someone reaching their download cap, I probabyl just lumped those two into one category of things I've really never downloaded.

Either that or I meant porn.

*shrug*

It was a pretty hypocritical move considering whats on this board.
umm, no. there has never been a straight link to a bit-torrent on this forum. links to the sites that carry said links is a different matter all together. i think you will find that trend common in any forum.

Watching DVD's via your computer connected to your HDTV or projector is desireable because you can get a better picture using FFDSHOW and high quality DVD codecs (NVDVD). Even if you buy your DVDs or rent them legitimately it's worth looking into if you have good eyesight.

We host copyrighted material on this board. Like thats any better then a straight link. All of this is very inconsistent.

downloading music is a bit tricky. saying downloading music is 'fragrant theft' is a bit extreme.
The actual word is, "Flagrant". I think we can bend the rule of law just a wee bit if it will allow you to steal a dictionary.

So like, Dynasty Warriors 5 is bloody good fun but my thumbs are killing me!

The girl with the flute is my favorite, so far... and Cao Pi is preety cool... but his name makes me giggle like a schoolgirl.

Actually, you can thank SOE and their naming policy/name filter for the spelling of my name. It seems as though there is a guard named Moonwind in Kelethin...and they would not let me spell my own name correctly!

why should I subsidize video rental stores with my own money to see if a product is worth buying? I should be able to return a game I bought if it sucks.

Self justification is amazing :)

If you like something, pay for it. Whether you'd be caught stealing it or not. That's called personal integrity.

So

Post by Sartori »

So what if stuff is downloadable here? That doesn't mean everyone frequenting this board downloads the shit that is available, and it doesn't make anyone here that might defend anti-piracy a liar or hypocrite. For the record, I did d/l and watch the Family Guy movie (thanks Win!). It was funny, but I think I'd rather just buy the season DVD's :) I have to say I agree with Kyou about the industry, but the majority of my games are store-bought. I even bought a $20 copy of the original Dungeon Seige recently. If I could fit the game down the toilet I would, but I guess 'll just imagine that I flushed my money away instead.
