4 month old kitten walked onto our back porch and never left. Cutest and friendliest cat I have ever seen, it is obviously used to people and other cats. These pictures were taken the first night we saw him and he trusted us completely right away. Amazing. He has no fear and walked straight up to our other cats when we let him in heh. I have never seen such a mellow cat. Ever.

Currently waiting on being fixed and then he will go on a road trip to some friends of ours in Columbus who will adopt him. Will hurt to see this one go, we both have always wanted a cat like him but at least he is going to a very good home. How somebody could throw this adorable little thing out is beyond me..

This is now the 8th cat/kitten we have rescued!

That looks almost identical to the adult cat I lost a few months ago, down here in Columbus. Only real difference being my cats eyes were green.

Must be something about grey and white short hair cats. My was the nicest most tolerant cat I have ever seen. When my son was just crawling years ago he would crawl up onto the cat and lay on him. The cat would just sit there and purr.

This kitten started purring when the nurse held him and the vet examined him.. insane! Only time he freaked a bit was when they gave him eye drops which I can understand, it is quite uncomfortable for them. And when I brought him back home from the vet he didn't run and hide, he just started inspecting the entire place and that was the first time ever he was inside with us. Walked straight up to the other adult cats and said hi to.

Simply amazing little kitten. I'd love to keep him but he is already promised to others

Hehe, one of my parent's cats did that. My dad was doing laundry in our garage. He was about to carry a load into the house, when a kitten walked right up to the garage doorway, sat down, looked around, then right at him and meowed... as if to say "What's for dinner?"

That was 13 years ago, and we still have him.

That is outside on the porch.. concrete and dry cat food

He didn't like the kitten chow we gave him and he went straight for the expensive food we give the adults heh.

Still not sure why he came to us among the hundreds of porches in the apartment complex. It is a HUGE complex and it came straight to us

Cats know Kelshara, I call it Kitty Extrasensory Perception or KESP for short. They know when people are good, loving, caring individuals. At my parents house they didn't have but 3 (they had a pretty big house) and they were inside cats but they continually had other cats show up for help. Mom even had a mother cat who had been hurt carry her kitten up to the front porch to her feet while she was outside on night and die right there. However mom was able to save the kitten and it was eventually adopted by a friend of hers. It was like the last thing mother could do was to get her kitten somewhere she knew it would be safe...

You cat people prolly don't notice, but trust me, your house REEKS of cat. I can tell the second I walk into a place if they have a cat or not, and since cats have way better smell than humans, I imagine they can tell from outside.

reminds me of the kitty I found outside a mexican restaurant about 7 months ago, he ran right up to me and started following me when I tried to leave.
He has the most mellow temperment, and is so comfortable at the vets he will even play with his toys there (he has had to spend a lot of time there due to a sinus infection/neutering/shots etc.) He is great around little kids too, loves to be pet by them and doesnt mind screaming etc. Cutest cat ever.
Just last month I was driving by the restaurant where we got him and there was a little kitty that had been run over right in front of the restaurant

We had one adopt us too in our neighborhood in Florida. I suspect he could see the other cats in the windows and (french) doors, though.

We brought him with us to Texas and he's been really good. Gets a little carried away playing with the indoor cats sometimes (we let him inside for a few hours at a time), but he's just rough around the edges.

Hmmm...Kyoukan has a point. You did say it was obviously used to being around people.

Have you tried to find the owner? Local flyers on trees and poles...asking neighbors, etc.? Even if the owner is a dipshit and wasn't paying attention to keeping the cat inside...I would still try and find the owner.

Then again, I am not really a cat person so I don't care as much about the furball as I do about little Jenny crying herself to sleep because her beloved pet is missing....

Moonwynd yes. We live in a large, fairly exclusive apartment complex with a very tight community and this would be known right away. Unfortunately it is quite common for people to move and leave behind their pets and I expect this was what happened. The kitten was almost starved to death when we started feeding it and have had plenty of opportunity to go back to it's owner if it wanted as well. To be honest, it is lucky to have survived due to the amount of cars here. Outdoor cats do not last long here unfortunately.

The kitten was abandoned and from his behavior towards other cats I would guess it was part of a litter as well. We have seen one other cat of similar age out around the parking lot that might be a sibling. We'll see if we can catch that one as well before it gets hit by a car.

Out of the 8 cats we now have rescued one I got from a no-kill shelter, one was severely abused by it's previous owner until she has permanent damage and then thrown out, five we found outside of my gf's former job and now this one. All now live very happy, secure lives.
