most useless class

No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

It is a useless class, kids will easily learn to do it on their own. And if you wanted to teach them how to pick correct sites for sources, hell a normal teacher could tell you how in 20 minutes.

I can see where it has some kind of use.

I was good friends with one of my professors and she showed me two papers that had something quite wrong with them. The problem was that they used faulty sources, and as such:

Homosexuality leads to bestiality and cannibalism.

Anorexia is perfectly safe and it is just a lie that your parents tell you.

Imagine two five page college papers that used these two sources for the meat of the paper.

Some people need a little more common sense then others.

Back in my day, we didn't have these fancy search engines or easy Internet based sites. It was just Lexis Nexis, boolean logic, and you. Also, uphill both ways, through snowy hurricanes.

Remember those huge rows of card drawers you had to use to find books using the Dewey Decimal System?

Anyone been to a library lately? Are they ghost towns or have they evolved into net surfing centers?

My college library is nothing but a bunch of people checking email, dicking around in some stupid chat room, or reading up on random cult shit. There is a girl that always sits at the same computer and does nothing but look up information on vampires. I hope one day she walks out into the sunlight and blows up.

My local library isn't used much from what I have seen. Elderly people go there to get books. Some people go and rent the shitty movies there. Kids use it for picture books and to use all four of the computers to play some stupid video game.

Neither has a card catalogue anymore. In fact, my college had theirs torm up and made into pieces of questionable "art". It is all done on one of those fancy computers that is designated for looking up books. The search feature there sucks.

I work at a bookstore and once a customer asked me if we use the Dewey Decimal System. Had a good laugh at that.
