Bagel w/cream cheese and a side of watermelon.

Or maybe a taco and a side of watermelon.

Either way, I'm gonna get some watermelon!

Pepperoni and Salami sandwich with mayo and a slice of American cheese. Large dill pickle, small bag of doritos, and a apple juice complete the meal for lunch today.

a slice of American cheese
That designation always cracked me up...

'American' cheese is a food product that happens to contain cheese. Many types of 'American' cheese contain so little cheese that they cannot be legally sold as cheese.

I just fucking love cheese... all type of cheese from the raunchiest gorgonzola to creamy brie to regular cheddar.... but processed cheese makes me vomit... literally. Something to do with all the chemicals and shit they put in it.

Apple and some honeydew (the money melon) for dessert.

There's plenty of 'gormet' american cheeses that are indeed real cheese. It's a derivitive of Cheddar, I think. Boar's Head has a good american cheese. Stuff like Kraft and such is ass, though.

Reheated some dinner I made last night. I poached some duck breasts, sliced them small, mixed it w/ an orange marmalade and bean sprouts and spooned it into a multi layered filo dough on the bottom and top and baked until the top of the filo was slightly browned. Jeez I love when a dish I cook turns out great.

It's still over processed.
Companies call it 'American' cheese because 'processed cheese' or 'processed cheese food' don't sound very appealing.

I'm not disputing the fact that processed cheese contains some real cheese.... but I would rather eat actual real, pure cheese than some processed, pre-packaged shit loaded with chemicals.

It's kinda like partially hydrogenated oil that used to be used in most snack foods. Chock full of very unhealthy trans fat. Many comanies have started switching to using regular, hydrogenated olis which have virtually no transfat. There is no discernable difference in quality or taste.

I agree except for my velveeta chipolte dip, it's fantastic stuff. Without the extra non-cheese stuff (oil?) in velveeta it doesn't taste right.

Miir, you're confusing processed cheese products with the type of cheese they're meant to emulate. These products are generally called "cheese food" or "processesed cheese food" because they legally can't be called "cheese" in the USA due to the low quantity of actual cheese contained in the product. These processed foods are available in cheddar, swiss and other varieties including american. American cheese is a specific type of 'real' cheese similar to a mild cheddar. It's usually yellow, but also often found as a white cheese. It happens to be the most popular flavor to emulate, in North America at least, for the cheese product producers (e.g. Kraft and their Kraft Singles).

I am sorry for your sensitive tum tum. I don't care though because I like my Kraft singles and will add them to my sandwiches or make Grilled Cheese with it. I like it, my wife likes it, and my kid likes it, and the price is in our budget and the ease of use makes it an all around winner.
