InFocus X3

Post by Neost »

Ok, decided I'm going to order one of these later this week. It's a decent little projector that does native 1024x768 and seems to have most everything i want in a projector and comes in just over 1k in price.

I've also found reflective screen primer and paint that claims to be THE thing to use for painting a screen on a wall but that stuff is pretty pricey. Are there any alternatives other than buying a screen?

Also, if anyone else has seen/used an X3 I'd like to hear your comments before I pop 1k on it:)

I saw this stuff on some tv show -- it's supposed to be pretty nice but I've never used it so it is all just hearsay.

What for and how much are you planning on using it?

It's going to be my home theater projector so it'll get quite a bit of use.

I've heard rumor that Winnow might know of a less expensive alternative to goo....

If it's going to get a lot of use be sure to budget for replacement lamps. I heard some InFocus models have fairly expensive bulbs. As their average life is ~2000 hours it wont take long to burn that up if it receives 'quite a bit of use'.

Lamp on this one is rated at 3k hours and replacement is right at 300 bucks.
