My friend that came to visit this weekend brought us a paper with that exact image on it. Apparently he was friends with that girl in high school. What a dumb choice :(

I don't really see anything to make them Darwin worthy. Plenty of things can go wrong when you combine the elements presented in that cave, even if others had been doing it successfully for years. The darkness alone when cave diving is mind numbing.

I read about this in the local papers. It sounds like the girl going back through the tunnel first drowned for whatever reason and everyone else got stuck behind her. Also they were doing it at like 3AM. Really a sad thing to happen - but those kids were being pretty stupid.

And I live in Utah Valley, you got a problem with that bitches? :razz:

Man dies after falling from roof of car

From a Hays Co. sheriff’s office press release:

On March 17, 2008 at 4:06pm the Hays County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a single motor vehicle accident that occurred in the 800 Block of Hidden Creek Dr. west of Dripping Springs. Hidden Creek Dr. is a private-gated road.

Henly Fire Department, Henly Fire Rescue, North Hays EMS and the Hays County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was a 20-year-old male, driving a 2004 Hyundai Sonata traveling south on Hidden Creek Dr. in Dripping Springs.

Two males were riding on the roof of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle proceeded down a hill on Hidden Creek Rd., both male passengers were thrown off the roof of the vehicle. Both males hit the pavement and slid off the roadway striking large rocks on the shoulder of the road.

CPR was initiated by Emergency Personnel on the scene.

A 19 year old male was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 Terry Kyle. The second individual, a 19-year-old male was transported to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin by Star Flight. The driver of the vehicle suffered no injuries.

Name of deceased being withheld pending notification of next of kin. All three of the individuals were from San Antonio.

The driver of the vehicle, Andres Lloyd Rojas, 21, was booked into the Hays County Jail and charged with manslaughter, a second degree felony.

Rojas was magistrated by Justice of the Peace Pct.1, Place 1, Jo Anne Prado. Bond set at 100,000 cash/security.

No further information at this time.
