Whoa, cool movie, might be vaporware... might be another Horizons scale failure... but cool idea to keep your eye on. Download and watch the movie

I've played plenty of FPS since I first played Counterstrike. As of yet, there isn't a one that has been able to keep my attention. I don't know why, its not as realistic as others. I guess its just the simplicity of it, I don't know. I think Source and Doom 3 looked pretty sweet. I suppose BF2 looks nice as well, but I just go back to Counterstrike for some reason. I love just going into an FY mapped server after a day of listening to retarded Customer Issues, Action-Item lists, and Conference calls with people who don't know what the hell they are talking about.

I've found Battlefield 2 to be a great attention grabber.. but then again I've always leaned more towards the Battlefield series than CS or CS:S. CS feels so limiting after you've played Battlefield (in terms of vehicles and stuff to do). BF2 also has a nice progression system and squads, which really helps teamwork run smooth.Psyloche wrote:I've played plenty of FPS since I first played Counterstrike. I like CS just because when I actually aim at someone, I dont miss when its a sure shot. I played the BF2 demo OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS, and there were many times when I shot at someone with a machinegun and it takes forever to put them down, while im prone on the ground. Many times where the recoil reticule wasnt even bigger than my target but ide still go thru a whole clip just to put a single one down. I guess the sniper rifle must factor in bullets falling (i cant remember the scientific term, rate of descent?) because I would miss shots with a non-moving target while prone. The aim and recoil in this game is just too wierd to me, and I get a sense that they made it that way to balance aspects of the game.
I would play CS:S more but source has serious issues with my pc for no fucking reason.

Yes, bullets fall over large distances, so you have to make up for it. I haven't gotten the better sniper rifle yet so I can't tell you how much better it is than the default ones. When I do snipe however, I just get it to the point where it's a foot or two above their heads/shoulders, and that works really well for me. Another thing is when you're shooting with guns with lots of ammo, you need to make small pauses after ever 5-10 bullets, because your aim gets much worse as you keep going. I believe this is in CS as well, but not sure. I know BF has been doing it since BF1942.Sionistic wrote:I like CS just because when I actually aim at someone, I dont miss when its a sure shot. Rellix wrote:The upgrade Sniper weapon is much better. The power it packs makes killing with it easier. Head shots are still the win, and it takes more patience than in other games. The good thing is that it basically takes two shots to finish people off even with body shots. Once you get used to the accuracy each weapon has, you can take a lot of people out fairly quickly. I rarely drop down prone to shoot at infantry due to the fact that this leaves your head out in front for them to take you out quicker. Crouching is one skill that most people don't even think to use.Sionistic wrote:I like CS just because when I actually aim at someone, I dont miss when its a sure shot.
