Looking forward to seeing what they do to beef up Restoration and Balance Druids.Caydiem wrote: In the upcoming content patch, there are significant changes to Cat Form. Here's the run down:
Cat Form's base damage (not attack power, but the cat form's "weapon" damage) has been increased.
Each point of Agility now adds 1 Attack Power.
Rip's damage per combo point has been increased.
Ferocious Bite's damage per combo point has been increased. In addition, extra energy now converts to damage at a higher rate.
The global cooldown on Tiger's Fury has been replaced with a one-second self cooldown. Its duration has been increased to six seconds.
Rake's damage has been increased.
Also, the combo point problem with Ferocious Bite -- wherein the points would go away on a miss/dodge/parry -- should be resolved.
I have also been informed that talent changes for Druids (which should, among other things, further enhance Feral viability) are still on the way and currently scheduled for the content patch after 1.7.
There is a school of thought that talent changes should be made to increase the Feral form viability, and the developers are of that mind also... but they were also not satisfied with the level of effectiveness for all Druids, regardless of specialization. The changes is 1.7 should boost that significantly.

The EQ2 dev team actually fixes shit... constantly. Not like the fucking joke of a dev team that Blizzard has on WoW.
Mind you, I mostly play WoW now and I think it would be a near perfect game if they would ever pull their heads out of their collective asses and fix their fucking servers and item database. I mean c'mon it's been 10 fucking months already. Synch issues, mail lag, servers taken down for 24+ hours... SOE is making them look like a bunch of ameteurs.

I sort of agree with you except for 3 points that would mar perfection:miir wrote:The EQ2 dev team actually fixes shit... constantly. Not like the fucking joke of a dev team that Blizzard has on WoW.

- expand the bugginess to include shit like bugged questmobs and buggy zone geometry in places as well
-they did make it too easy to solo/progress and thus have lack of content
- PvP has some pretty serious issues that need to be solved too
As far as server stability, it does piss me off tremendously that Blizzard hasn't managed to get a grip on this yet, but first V.I. and then S.O.E. had major issues after each expansion (although it did tend to lessen as time went on).

I can put up with occasional server instability but having to put up with this shit 10 months after release is really unacceptable.
An example:
Fighting a mob and all of a sudden I can't hit it. It flees and I get 'cannot see target' and 'target too far away' messages. Then I start getting pummeled by that same mob and no matter how far I run (even across zonelines), it keeps hitting you. When I inevitably die, my corpse is sitting at the spot where I (or maybe the mob) went out of synch.
This happened so much prior to 1.6, I specifically avoided fighting shit that would flee at low health. After 1.6, it stopped happening... after the minor update they did on tuesday, it started happening again.
Last night, in Searing Gorge, there was one specific area where I would go out of synch.... log off, log back on and hunt elsewhere in the zone, come back to that area and BAM like clockwork.... out of synch.
Seeing 5-10 guildmates simultaneously get punted off. Frequently.
Opening the mailbox to see nothing..... so I wait..... and wait.... and wait.... fuck it go to another mailbox and my mail instantly pops up... well not really instantly, more like 15-20 seconds but it seems instant compared to how long it usually takes.
And this is not even on a high population, older server. It's a faggoty roleplay server that was LOW last time I checked.
I can tolerate shit like that in the first week or two of release for a game, but 10 months later is just laughable.
It's a bloody fun game but the fucking shitty servers are constanly making me ask myself why the fuck do I bother playing.
Blizzard sucks ass.

hehe, the mail thingy reminds me of something.
A friend of mine mailed me a purple axe, so after the mail icon showed up i went to the mailbox to check.
Nope, didnt see it, the mail at the top was some old rubbish mail i was going to destroy.
So i clicked on the rubbish mail and destroyed it.
Then after 15 seconds or so BAM! OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of the mails appeared in the mail-list, and lo and behold, the rubbish mail i deleted before showed up again!
Apparently i deleted the purple item mail! Which was supposed to be up top, but wasnt?
Weird mail-lag!

I have never had any of those problems you listed miir.
And what I don't understand is how you can praise SOE for fixing Evercrap:The Sequel in such a timely fashion and bitch about how long it takes for the devs to do stuff in wow because its been out for ten months.
Need I remind you that soe didn't have their shit together with eq for the first
6 years it was on the market? So they had years of learning how to not be total fucking dipshits, Blizzard is new on the market and I think they are doing pretty acceptable in comparison.

I had problems like that (and login queue issues) when I was on Shattered Hand.I have never had any of those problems you listed miir.
I moved to a green server and it was fin eand dandy for a couple of weeks, then the server kept taking a shit. Then all was good up until a week before 1.6 then the server started booting people every 20-30 minutes... Then it was fine until the last little update.
Because when EQ2 had the occasional balance or server issues they were fixed.. usually within a few days. The devs were (and still are) in constant communication with the players. They are continually balancing everything from encounters to tradeskills to crap like the guild management tools. And to top it off, they add new content monthly. And what I don't understand is how you can praise SOE for fixing Evercrap:The Sequel in such a timely fashion and bitch about how long it takes for the devs to do stuff in wow because its been out for ten months.
If you want to argue which game is more fun, go right ahead... but when it comes to everything else involved in a MMOG, the EQ2 dev team has been making the Blizzard team look like a bunch of brain damage retards who sit around in a puddle of piss trying to figure out the most efficient way to eat their own feces for the past 10 months.
So you think it's accurate to compare a 3rd generation MMOG with the first mass market MMOG that was released over 5 years ago?Need I remind you that soe didn't have their shit together with eq for the first
6 years it was on the market?
Why not start extoling the virtues of HL2 in comparison to Redneck Rampage or Shadow Warrior?
Newsflash: EQ2 is not EQ.... just the same as Planetside is not SWG.
You must have pretty fucking low standards if you think their service has been acceptable.. either that our your nose is jammed so far up their ass that you fail to see any of the problems or shortcomings in this damn game.So they had years of learning how to not be total fucking dipshits, Blizzard is new on the market and I think they are doing pretty acceptable in comparison.
Yeah, and don't forget to tell me to disable any custom addins and delete everything in my UI folder.... are you a blizzard GM or something?I also never had problems that Miir said. My only suggestoin is to get a better PC or better ISP?
Seriously, I'm pretty sure it's not my ISP causing my entire group to lag out for 30 seconds when someone else loots a corpse... and I doubt my ISP is causing 5 guildmates in strath to simultaneously get booted.
Can't believe people are still making excuses for blizzard.

I actually made the switch from WoW to EQ2 a few months ago.
While I do enjoy playing EQ2, I must say that there were and still are more bugs in EQ2 that immediately take you out of the game than there are in WoW.
For instance:
1)Hop on a griffon and your screen goes black other than the UI forcing you to alt-f4.
2)Pull an encounter of 4-5 mobs and mid fight the encounter is broken because one of the mobs happened to wander across the zone. It then had to run too far to get to the encounter and breaks.
3)Mobs that path right into the walls and then become unhittable, but can still hit you.
There are more than this, but thats what I thought of off the top of my head.

Hehe, I haven't had that happen in months but I hear it's still around. Bizarre bug.)Hop on a griffon and your screen goes black other than the UI forcing you to alt-f4.
Just gotta back up a bit to pull em out. I had a hard time getting used to that one but it's far easier to predict than the mobs in WoW that appear to be right in front of you that you cant hit while they are pummeling you with dazed and backstabs. And also backing up a half step in WoW usually causes mobs to run behind you. Mob positioning in WoW is migraine inducing.Mobs that path right into the walls and then become unhittable, but can still hit you
I'm not saying EQ2 is perfect... far from it. But at least you can log on and play and not worry about getting booted or having to constantly relog. The servers are as close to rock-solid as I have seen in any mmog.

Who's making excuses? I, or anybody that I know, is going through what you are going through. Maybe the game doesnt like you. I don't know what to tell you.miir wrote:Can't believe people are still making excuses for blizzard.
Edit: NM, I do. YOu should probably just stop playing these games. You cant seem to find anything good in any of them. You should take a break before your head explodes.

Lynks any time a suggestion is made that it May not be Blizzard's fault you get put into the "fanboi" catagory, It Don't pay to get involved, Just agree with Miir that Blizzard sucks and be done with it
For the record, since I started playing I think I Lagged out maybe 5 times total..... the rest of my disco's were from my PC rebooting itself which I can't explain, or my Verizon dsl crapping on me.

I have no problems with the game itself.NM, I do. YOu should probably just stop playing these games. You cant seem to find anything good in any of them.
I'm just taking the piss out of Fairweather for that off-the-cuff about SOE developers.
But nevertheless, WoW would be the best MMOG ever if they could pull their heads out of their asses long enough to fix the server issues. As it stands right now, their 'fix' is to wait until the servers become unplayable... then they restart them.
I suppose it's not Blizzards fault for their shitty servers and laggy ass databases.Lynks any time a suggestion is made that it May not be Blizzard's fault you get put into the "fanboi" catagory
