Warped Tour is pretty fun usually. I attended the Ventura Fairgrounds shows 2001-2003 and had a blast! The trick is figuring out where the bands you want to see are playing and making tracks to get a good standing area before the band starts up.
Usually there are shitty bands headlining like 311 or new found glory or whatever, but there are a shitload of good acts to check out for the most part. My favorite bands at the shows were:
Lagwagon
NOFX (Fat Mike is the best!)
Alkaline Trio
Death By Stereo (they most likely will not do Warped again)
Thursday
Rancid(not my favorite, but a fun show)
Army of Freshmen
Distiller
Bad Religion
...........
There are a ton of kids there, but it is good to see kids into punkrock these days with the helmet thing and all.
PUNK WILL NEVER DIE!

.............
The cool side acts are the halfpipe and the motocross super-jumper people....and the beer garden, of course!

Not for free!
Was a lot of fun, I felt pretty old with all the 13-17 y/o's that were there. Here are a few of the bands that I liked the most:
Gogol Bordello (pretty sure thats their name, gypsy kinda sound) - I had never really heard them before and their show really caught my eye and I liked their stuff. I want to see them again for a whole show.
Dropkick Murphys - I really enjoyed them, but I was familiar with them anyway and they didnt disappoint.
Transplants - Played a lot of their good stuff, then that "gangsters and thugs" crap....I like their previous stuff
.
Billy Idol - I really wasnt expecting much, but he is in good shape and sounded pretty awesome. I was right up front and when he played "Rebel yell" I felt like a teenager again. He played mostly new stuff that is more mellow then your used to from him, but it was good. Even all the kids liked him a lot. Oh ya, he played some Generation X stuff too!
My Chemical Romance - Yawn...just cant get into em, they didnt do anything to change my mind.
The Offspring - About what I expected from them, I like em and their show was good....nothing spectacular. I did get sick of him talking up the crowd "WOW Sacremento has the best pits in the whole world!"....gimme a fucking break
All the other stages had quite a few decent bands and some pretty lame ones as well. I really don't remember those I liked and disliked on those stages...too many beers.....too many bands

My dream is to have Dropkick Murphy's and Flogging Molly play on adjacent stages at the same time. Nnnnmg.
...But until then, three cheers for Dropkick being at this year's outing. I can't wait for the Tour to make its way to Michigan.
