I can't say who will win. Ohio has the momentum...so look for UM to win. I am from Columbus, so I know the place is going crazy right now with anticipation. All I can say is that OSU better have one hell of a passing game, because Clarett isn't doing shit to Hobsen et al. On the reverse, UM better have a hell of a running game because Navarre is a piece of shit quarterback.

Columbus native here. You throw out any ideas of how good a player is when it comes to The Game. Normally the great players continue to play great, but sometimes its that sleeper that seems to kill the Buckeyes (Tim Biakabituka, Tai Streets) and it could possibly be Navarre this year. If Maurce is healthy I think it would be huge. He wears down defenses plain and simple--crushing momentum. This is Tressels first big test. With a win he could tie Coopers career wins against Michigan and ensure a national championship bowl game.

In the spirit of the times, I'm going to say Michigan 13 Ohio State 24

special teams will be huge.

Go Bucks~~

Tim Biakabituka was not a sleeper. He was ahead of Eddie George in the Heisman voting until he injured his elbow, which sidelined him for 2 games. Michigan's defense held George to 54 yards that game while Tim ran for over 200. Navarre won't be a sleeper this year, his wide outs/tight end will be.

I anticipate a Michigan victory.

Here is a snip from the Onion I always think of hen these subjects come up on this msg board.

--------------

You Will Suffer Humiliation When The Sports Team From My Area
Defeats The Sports Team From Your Area

As you can see from the calendar, the game is coming up this weekend. I'm sure you are as excited for it as I am, as our cities are rivals and have been for quite some time. Your confidence in your team is high, but rest assured, you will suffer humiliation when the sports team from my area defeats the sports team from your area.

On numerous occasions, you have expressed the conviction that your area's sports team will be victorious. I must admit that every time I hear you make this proclamation, I react with both laughter and disbelief. "Ha!" I say to myself with laughter. "What?!" I say to myself in disbelief. How could you believe that your sports team could beat my sports team? It is clear that yours is inferior in every way.

When the sporting contest begins, the players on your team will be treated as though they are inconsequential. It will be remarkably easy for my team to accumulate more points than yours. There are many reasons for this, starting with the inferior physical attributes of the players representing your area. Strength, speed, and agility are just three of the qualities that the players on the team from your area lack. The players representing my area, on the other hand, have these traits in abundance.

I would not be a bit surprised if the individuals on the team from your area were sexually attracted to members of their own gender. That is how ineffective they are on the field of battle.

Underscoring your team's inferiority is its choice of colors. It is ludicrous to believe that your team's colors inspire either respect or fear. Instead, they appear to have been chosen by someone who is colorblind or, perhaps, bereft of sight altogether. The colors for my team, on the other hand, are aesthetically pleasing when placed in proximity to one another. They are a superior color combination in every way.

While we are on the subject of aesthetics, let us compare the respective facilities in which our teams play. While my team's edifice is blessed with architectural splendor and the most modern of amenities, yours is a thoroughly unpleasant place in which to watch a sporting contest. I know of what I speak, for I once attended a game between our respective teams in your facility. Let's just say the experience left me wishing that my car was inoperable that day due to mechanical problems, rendering it impossible for me to get to your area to attend the game.

If you need another reason why the sporting franchise representing my area is superior, look no further than the supporters for the two sides. Not only are the supporters of the team from my region more spirited, but they are also more intelligent and of finer breeding than you and the rest of your ilk. In addition, the female supporters of the team from my area possess more attractive countenances and figures than yours. Some of the women from my side that I have observed could make a living by posing for pictures for major men's magazines. The women who cheer for your team, I'm afraid, are far too unattractive to do so.

One of the more pathetic aspects of the team from your area is the fact that only people in your immediate area possess an affinity for it. By means of contrast, the team from my area inspires loyalty and affection in individuals who live in many other geographic locations.

To illustrate this point, let me tell a brief story: Recently, I was on vacation in an area of the country far away from my own, and I saw many individuals wearing items of clothing that bore the insignia of my team. I approached one such individual and asked him if he originated from my area. He said no, explaining that he simply liked the team from my area and had for many years. Interestingly enough, during this trip, I saw no clothing or other paraphernalia bearing the insignia of your team.

Do you still doubt that the team from your area is inferior to the one from mine? Just look at our teams' respective histories. In the past, we have defeated you on any number of occasions. Granted, there were times when your team beat my team, but those were lucky flukes.

The day of the game will soon be at hand. And no matter how hard you pray to a higher power or how many foam accoutrements you wear in support of the team from your area, your team will be defeated. We will win and you will lose. This is your fate.

Prepare for humiliation. It shall be upon you at the designated hour.

The nice thing about Michigan-OSU is that it's always a game. One team could be winless and the other undefeated and you never know who is going to win it. Initially I was a bit worried about playing the Buckeyes, but I'm not so sure anymore after they squeaked past Purdue and Illinois, both of whom the Wolverines defeated somewhat easily. (Okay, the Purdue game ended close, but we never trailed and they scored with 8 seconds left to cut our lead.) Lloyd Carr has also never lost a revenge game in his career. I look for the Wolverines to spoil it this year for the Buckeyes, and I'll be in Columbus cheering them on.

A Michigan fan was giving an OSU fan a lift to the annual game in his pickup truck. The OSU grad, of course, preferred riding in the open bed in back.

On one of those treacherous rural roads around Columbus, the driver of the pickup truck had to swerve to avoid either a cow or an OSU cheerleader (they're hard to tell apart) and wound up driving off the road, down an embankment and into a river. The truck submerged completely, but the Michigan alumnus knew what to do; he rolled down the window, took a deep breath as the truck cab filled with water, then opened his door when the pressure was equalized and rose to the surface.

Sadly, the OSU graduate was unable to get the pickup's tailgate open, so he drowned.

Dan Rumishek is my hero!

I predict:

Mich - 21
OSU - 17

Too bad it's not in Ann Arbor this year. Rowandil and Fazzar have season tickets and Fazzar usually takes Xunil to the game when we go up to their place for thanksgiving each year (Row & Fazz are both Alumni at U of M).

WE WON!

13-0 ...do we get any respect now? 8)

I rushed the field after the game, but since we haven't won at home in years we had a little trouble bringing down the goalposts. Eventually the cops just started tear gasing everyone and it was crazy.

See ya in Tempe~~

P.S. if you watched the game....Clarett is the real deal.

If they played that shitty against an average team, just think of how bad the beating will be when they play Miami in the Fiesta Bowl. Only thing that may save them is if Miami plays shitty like they have been doing recently, letting teams hang around for the 4th Quarter dramatics etc...

If you want to come down to " so and so should have won" Penn State should have won vs Ohio,Mich, and Iowa! :)

This game was great! Not only was I wrong about a bowl game for Penn State in Tampa, but with tonights win + Ohio's win. They get to come to Orlando! Thats almost as great as watching 4 college drunk girls, fighting over a hottub jetstream!

I don't mean to be critical....BUT Michigan was ranked 9 in one poll and 12 in another. Top ten teams usually aren't considered "average"...plus it's The Game. Don't fuck with The Game. I can't believe Miami fans are saying they will beat us by three touchdowns. Miami is a good team. They aren't a great team. Get over yourself. We had roughly the same margin of victory against the 9th team as you did against whatever pitt was...(19)? don't hold me to that ;)

Sick of all these playa hatas :(

Average my ass. Yes Michigan has 3 losses, but they all came at the hands of (what will be after this week) top 5 opponents. Anybody who doesn't think we have one of the toughest schedules this year, if not the toughest, is smoking crack.

Today was a great game, congrats to OSU. I hate you guys but you did well this season, and the Beast is a hell of a running back. Good luck in the Fiesta Bowl.

The way Michigan's offense was playing today, or what I saw of it, they should have annihilated OSU. They could run the ball at will, throw for a decent amount of yardage. The underneath stuff was there all day, and you saw they attacked it, but not nearly often enough. Since they failed to adjust the game plan to compensate for OSU's secondary playing deep, they are average. Just as average as OSU is. Only thing OSU has going for it is Clarrett, if they didnt have him, where would they be? Taking they're weekly 50-10 drubbings wondering what the hell the problem is, thats where. Anyone after Miami and Oklahoma is considered an average team, and you'll see it in they're respective bowl games and the beatings they lay out to whoever they play, in Miami's case, Ohio State~~

For all the OSU=Clarett folks out there. If you remember he was out for at least 4 games this year, and I don't remember OSU having 4 losses.
Also for the "shouldas", you know who "shoulda" won? The team that scored more points "shoulda" won, if Michigan want to win then Michigan "shoulda" scored more points.
OSU plays a bend don't break style of defense. Michigan did move the ball, and did get it into OSU territory. However, if I am remebering correctly they came away with exactly 0 TDs and 0 points in the second half. Michigan was a good team, just like a bunch of the people OSU has beaten this year.

And it was nice to see Clarett break Robert Smith's freshman rushing record.

The Buckeyes have risen from the shadow of their former coach into true legitimacy. I watched the game, and Michigan deserved to lose. OSU, despite not having their main weapon at 100%, played tough D and kept it close until the end.

That being said, Miami is gonna beat that ass in the Fiesta Bowl.
