VV FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Post by Bubba Grizz »

It is June so we need to start thinking about Football. The questions I have this year is Who is going to commish the league and what are we going to use for it as far as Yahoo, ESPN, or CBS or other?

I'm just requesting that we don't have individual defensive players this year.

FF works best drafting entire Defensive teams and then concentrating on the offense.

Agree Winnow.

Yahoo works great. I use it for all my leagues. I am commish'ing the Baseball League now and would commish if you need me to. If not, I want in as a player.

I let you take the regular season title to get more favorable matchups in the playoffs..heh.

If we get anything close to a normal fantasty stat league (not all the off defensive players, huge special teams points), I'll be fighting for the championship at the end of the year.

I'm really hoping we tone it down this year and get back to basics. Pure old school Fantasy Football is where it's at!

You did a good job last year. Did you want to do it again? No individual defensive players and I vote for you as commish!

I don't see any reason to switch from a free Yahoo league to anything else unless someone is aware of a free league that provides live stats (I keep track of that in my money league though so it doesn't matter much to me).

The other request would be holding the live draft on a weekend so the majority would have a chance of attending. One of the most entertaining things about leagues is drafting your players instead of counting on a list.

I will again play the waiver wire like a maestro and orchestrate my way to the championship game. This time around I will make sure to not have anyone left on my team that is going to be in shutdown mode for the playoffs. Victory will be mine.

It looks like there is going to be a lot more intrest this year as in more than 12 teams. What if we changed the lineup a bit to reflect this so that everyone has a chance at a decent running back. As in, instead of having 3 WR and 2 RB we make it 2 WR and 1 RB? and then shorten the bench to reflect this.

My only request would be a Sunday draft.

Whatever you guys decide with the positions is fine with me, although the defensive player thing wasn't too fun. =p

The player pool gets pretty thin if you expand beyond 12 teams. Some of the fun/strategy comes from switching around your lineup each week depending on matchups. With 16 teams, you're pretty much stuck with your starters with not much room to handle bye weeks and injuries.

You may lose a few teams during the season due to injuries to their key players and the inability to have a decent backup to remain competitive.

Why don't we run two leagues concurrently and end the leagues 1 week early....then have the winning teams from each league's playoff meet in the final week for a real VV Bowl?

League can be made now!

I created the Veeshan Vault NFC league. It will take the next 11 people.

Congratulations, your team and league are now registered.
• Your new League ID# is 62215.
• Your draft is set for Sat Sep 10 3:00pm CDT [ Add to My Calendar ].
• Refer to the help pages for more information about drafting.

Password is vault.

Someone else form up the other league. We can work on the point system and such after that Pick the 4 team play off on weeks 15 and 16 so we can have a superbowl on the 17 week. that still needs to be figured out.

We need to make sure the settings are all the same for points in each league. Basically we may have to calculate the points for the VV SuperBowl by hand. Won't be a huge deal to only have to do it once......unless we can find a way to have the league run an extra week somehow without screwing things up.

Having the settings the same shouldn't be hard to do. Doing things by hand could be different. However we need someone to commish the other league and set up the online draft as soon as possible. I grabbed the latest weekend before the regular season I could.

SHIT! Ok I am totally sorry about that guys. The best time I could find now is August 13 at 3:30 CST.

Thanks Mid for seeing that. For some reason I thought the league started later because the Packers first home game is supposed to be the 18th.

We still need a Second Commish else we are only going to have a single leage with a first come first serve package.

Select your league name Veeshan Vault AFC

and a password I used vault

select Live Draft

You will have to pick a date. I went with August 13th (cause I fucked up the earlier choice).

don't worry about the settings as we can work those out later.

Last year we had to wait until July to create leagues so I was really surprised that it was open already.
