The Darkness

Post by Fairweather Pure »

Anna Paquin plays a character that isn't Rogue, but still manages to make you think she's playing Rogue the entire time. She moves into a haunted-type house with her family that is located somewhere in Spain for no reason that is ever really explained. That pretty much sets the theme for the entire movie. Nothing is ever explained. Things happen, sometimes eerie, sometimes lame, but the movie never explains a goddamn thing about 9 out of 10 scenerios during the film. Even the ending will leave you thinking "Wtf is that all about?". Ultimately, the movie was completely pointless. I feel there was a decent horror flick in there just dieing to come out, but it was smothered in a sea of too many ideas being thrown at you at once, with little to no narration. On top of that, the movie's pace was slow as fuck. I don't mind a slow-burning movie as long as I'm given enjoyable characters with interesting dialogue to watch. This movie had neither at any point in the film.

3 out of 10. Avoid at all costs. It stunk.

http://imdb.com/chart/top

IMDB tends to trend high... but that's ok, just never rent anything that doesn't score 7 or better and you're golden ;)

N.B. Proof of concept: http://imdb.com/title/tt0120338/ (Titanic 6.9)
May 2003 - "Mission Accomplished"
June 2005 - "The mission isn't easy, and it will not be accomplished overnight"
