Hello from Saiphos

I've assumed a new name in the EQ world and most of you know I'm in charge of special events now, including Fan Faire.

I had a blast meeting you guys at FF, and I look forward to seeing you guys at the next one, hopefully in Vegas. We should have the next location officially announced soon.

I still read your boards like I always did, you guys still rock. I miss you guys but the boards at least give me a bit of the..umm...unique flavor of Veeshan EQ.

Keep the late night Royal Rumbles and GuildWars alive, and come visit me on the FF boards, Sirensa found me there, you guys can too. See you at a Fan Faire soon.

I must say the Saiphos was and still is in my mind better than any of the current or previous GM's.

Except for if you'll note things were always going wrong when he was around. Coincidence? I think not.

Saiphos , Jackass , welcome to the pad. I had a blast with you as a GM , as others have stated too bad they cant all be like you were. You did a great job at SF FF (even though Iw as only there for about 5 hours Sat). I just remember a lil Impromptu event ya threw in LR Arena and Whispers came and Owned it. It was a Free For All , and we just used a lil tactics to take everyone out:) and all those damn kitty cats were a pain , but they made the event. I'll see ya in Vegas man

It was great to finally meet you in SF and now that you have your first FF under your belt, you'll have to spend more time partying with us in Vegas. ^^ I know I already told you this before, but you did a great job in SF and for once, I felt like my money was very well spent.

Saiphos, I just have to say that out of the 5 FFs I've been to, the one in SF was by far the best organized. It really made registering actually worthwhile, while in the past I stopped registering because it didn't seem worth it.

Looking forward to the next FF and seeing you again.

Btw, did you get sick too? Some bonehead at the Safehouse party Saturday spread some nasty shit around and a bunch of us got sick. Some of us (including me) are still recovering!

I definitely miss being your GM, I was really sad when they announced the change. You guys are most of the reason why I am where I am today. I got emails daily from you guys all of it positive...(except ragefire flames) and my bosses were suspecting me of bribing you guys or something.

I loved being your GM, and when other GMs would ask me why I liked it so much I'd say "They're lootwh*res, exploiters and punks, but they're MY lootwh*res, exploiters and punks!"

Thank you all very much for all the support you've given me, I love ya for it. Next time I'll definitely socialize a bit more now that I have more of an idea what I'm doing.

You should have legendary status among Verant/SOE as the only GM to handle the mega guildwars that were happening on Veeshan at the time with class.

You're the man Tom, for reals. San Fran FF was a complete blast. Most of the weekend is a blur to me sadly, but I do remember when you stopped by my party on thursday night for a bit. Well, at least I think it was thursday. You deserve every last drop of credit you've been given for everything you've done while at the company. You're genuinely a good Tom, it's going to take you far in life.

I think the reason you were the best GM to grace an EQ server is that you did not ever treat any of us as if we were exploiting criminals when we petitioned with a problem. Every case saw us being treated like we were customers who had a legitimate problem. That went a long way in winning over this server. We always knew no one could make things happy and snuggly between guilds...and we would have been pissed if it came to that!

Saiphos was single handedly responsible for my return to the feeling that a GM could be helpful.

Your events were great, and are missed in game as is your presence overall. Hopefully your enjoying your current position, but drop in to say hi once in a while!

Oh yeah that reminds me...

Anyone else think it might be fun at a FF to have a capture the flag event sort of thing? Each server gets a flag - has to bring it to certain events - if seen by another server - has to relinquish it, etc. Server with the most flags at the end of the night gets to go home with a prize! etc. Might be a fun way to get to know other people on your server as well as increase mingling! As well as stave off any unsavory folks who make be unable to resist the flag thieving otherwise..

I think we all fondly remember Saiphos and with good reason. It was the fact that you simply listened to our problems and made us feel like you cared, even if you were not allowed to fix things as we might have liked.

After all the jackassery of our previous GMs, that was a huge change.

For one reason, he ACTUALLY checked the logs, he ACTUALLY confirmed things.

None of that "Sorry I cannot help you" it was "The logs don't show it, drive on" or "The logs confirm it, let me fix it"
