I think the things Zealath speaks of are actually fairly reasonable, from the feedback I recieved. It's not a matter of racism, more annoyance with people who actually give grief (which seems to carry a trend in a place were the people in question have little to do other than that)
I really was intrigued in the same way, like wtf that's racist, but it seems like a bit of a fucked up situation tbh.

Wow. You are capable of growth. Very interesting.Nick wrote:I think the things Zealath speaks of are actually fairly reasonable, from the feedback I recieved. Not really, but I do understand it. It reflects that Australians are not generally xenophobic, but we're not Amish either. I also accept that it's the europeans fault that Aboriginals exhibit traits that cause that tension.Sueven wrote:Do you consider that acceptable?I know quite a few that aren't racist to anyone but Aboriginals.
On the other hand, they really don't help themselves either. For example:
The government gave Aboriginal families houses to live in; they tore up the floorboards (and anything else) to burn in trash cans in the living room and left them in such a state that they had to be bulldozed. Australia is still a pretty socialist society, it's not that they couldn't afford heating, but it did cut into their booze budget.
I wish I had a solution for it, but it's a deep-seated cultural issue, not something you can fix by pretending there isn't a problem or throwing cash at it.

Don't worry, Jesse Jackson is going down to Mexico today to meet with Fox. We all know how good he is at this stuff, it will be fixed before we know it.
Seriously someone tell Jesse to worry about his 8 (I think that was the number) children with different mothers and stop telling others what to do. I think he is just going down there to look for some more ladies.

When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon
Actually in the corporate world many blacks make more than whites AND have better job security. Even in a layoff many corporations are "scared" to fire someone of color, even if they are underperforming, due to the the ability for them to play the racial card. To me that is bullshit. You do the same job I do, do it half as well, make more money and have better job security just because of your skin color? That's BS IMHO.
What is sad is that out of all my friends at work I know of about 2 that would actually play that racial card and those are the 2 that can't do shit. Those that would never play it are those that kick ass and take names. My belief is that if you don't do your job, why are you here and why are you taking money and credit from everyone else? Race, skin color, religion etc... should have nothing to do with it.
As far as many people from Mexcio taking jobs Black people wouldn't? Hell I don't really know. But I will say I haven't seen many teams of black bricklayers here in Arkansas but I see Mexcian teams daily... and let me tell you, they definitely take some pride in their work and do it well.
