US Senate smear campaign off to bad start!
US Senate smear campaign off to bad start!
Now I am not sure if any of you know who George Galloway is so I will do a little run down on the recent history in relevance to this man.
He used to be in the Labour Party (Tony Blair's party) but was expelled before the illegal war on Iraq (for his "outspoken" views in a free democracy) alongside many other prominent party members (Robin Cook being the most well known cabinet member) who resigned as a sign of protest over this whole farce.
Now, fast forward to this months election in the UK, in which Tony Blair was re-elected.
This in itself was a messed up situation, where less than 9 million people out of 60 million voted for Blair/Labour yet they still keep an overriding mandate which has led to very many calls for a look at how the "democracy" in the UK is actually designed.
Essentially Blair got the lowest popular vote in the last 110 years of Parliament (and when you look at the main opposition, the "Conservatives" (read - nazi party) that is pretty alarming). Many expect he will resign in the next year and a halfish simply because the anti war vote was so strong it has completely ruined any credibility he may have had, even though he is still PM.
Gordon Brown, Blairs right hand man, is widely expected to succeed the fallen retard sometime soon.
Now, back to Galloway, who played a major role in this last election, by essentially championing the Anti war movement and running as an Independant in a MAJOR Labour stronghold, and winning.
He won by a massive margin, which was essentially viewed by the media and the people as the best way of seeing how the anti war vote did against Labour, which was decisive.
Now, when Galloway resigned from the Labour Party this "Oil for food" bullshit was thrown on him by various sources who could never verify or prove what they claimed.
It is fully accepted now in the UK that this was a smear campaign designed to attack Galloway's credibility.
It failed.
Now, surprise surprise, since Galloway can now once again hold the Government to account, there is a new smear campaign, this time launched by some US senators, who again have failed to provide any evidence that he was in fact involved.
It's a further corruption to achieve a head on a plate of a man who has stood up and (successfully) defended these claims before.
Essentially, Galloway causes headaches for those intent on the murder of innocent children in the name of Freedom.
I wonder who will win.
P.S - There are many pictures of Galloway standing with Saddam (when he was ordered to do so by Blair) etc, but then again, there are just as many of Rumsfeld doing the same, so guilt does not necessarily lie where the media will attempt to spin it (as it failed to accomplish in the past).
PPS - I am not particularly an ardent Galloway fan, he has a few crazy ideas about abortion etc (outright ban) but I can smell this for the shit that it is. I do however like his no bullshit style in pointing out corruption and murder when it is just that.

Why when there are more guilty men running our own governments do blame and lies fall on those seeking justice for innocent bystanders in this ridiculous 3 ring circus sideshow we are told to call "Freedom".
It really does show the bitter underhandedness of those in charge. As if any more proof was needed.

i watched some of the testimony today. I have no idea if this guy is guilty or innocent. I will say he made Norm Coleman (R-Minnesota, the Chairman of the committee) look like a fool. Very aggressive personality, and he came out with guns blazing. Coleman really wasn't able to get his footing and let the guy talk over him and drive the conversation when Coleman was the one supposed to be asking the questions.
it was pretty interesting.
it was pretty interesting.
Regardless, I like this pic from CNN.

"Hey! You're all full of crap!
"
EDIT: Man that guy is just not photogenic...

"Hang on my other orifice would like to put it in a way you'll all understand!"

"Norm Coleman, your pecker is about ohhhhh yea big."
I'm sorry his pics just beg me to caption them.

Haha Lohrno
Ok, I got to watch the testimony there over dinner, it was hilarious!
Galloway is probably aggressive because the documents are blatantly falsified and take media reports that are wholly unfounded as fact, not to mention this is about the millionth time he has had to defend himself from people making up allegations about him to suit their political aims.
It was great watching him rip apart those smug self assured looking bastards.
A classic performance.

I use to be a Republican, I know many, even some currently in elected offices... I would trust them as far as I could spit on 'em. Without even researching I have no doubt your story is true.
I say if he is innocent I wish him all the power in the world to defeat this tyrrany that is trying to ruin his name.
Marb
PS - Yes I'm sure there are some dems in as well... shame on them for associating wtih an elitest bunch of...

Parliament was re-opened today (after the election) whilst he was away doing that, it really is going to be funny watching him destroy Blair and Howard (conservative pro-war leader) for the next 4 years.
Although I do disagree with his abortion stance, which as I checked is not wholly to ban it, but to reduce the time in which abortions can take place (which is less hysterical) I respect his clear sense of justice and truth.
He made his party name "Respect" which is also cool, in that the whole theme of this last election over here was giving the voters "respect" that they hadn't recieved.
I think the whole oil for food program was a massive disgrace, which only served to make Saddam richer and more powerful while killing indirectly up to a million people, which is more than Saddam killed.......but of course that won't be highlighted because it would make us (the UN and "goodies") look like the murderers we are.
The whole "investigation" ignores this point and is really only a diversionary tactic designed to justify war and place blame on certain members when in fact everyone was guilty of far bigger crimes.

Norm COleman needs no help looking like a fool. The former democrat turned republican mid-term in hopes for being a go-getter in the republican party.
Sorry Norm.
We call him "Choppers" up here in the frozen tundra. (Just, watch him speak)

All those Oil-for-Food $Billions just floated around the world as if by magic? (that was sarcasm for you mental giants here)
I have no idea if this chap Galloway is guilty. Maybe the US Senate is just throwing some shit up against the wall to see what sticks. That's not such a bad idea since no other organization sees fit to investigate the UN.
This scandal overshadows anything Haliburton and Cheney may have done by whole orders of magnitude (that means "a lot") but where's the liberal outrage? In fact the USA was blamed for starving the little Iraqi children by trying to enforce sanctions against Saddam. Without a doubt Saddam was floating in cash that could have fed his people. Where's your keenly developed sense of justice, balance, and honesty? Ahhh, that's right, you don't have those abilities 'cause your progressives (that means liberal dimwits) and none of those traits are required.
One last thought on this... perhaps Mr. Galloway is aware of the precept, "The best defense is a strong offense."?

Ok clearly you didn't read what I wrote.
In reality, this is just a blatant smear campaign, for the reasons listed above. But hey run with the herd by all means, I'M SURE THATS NOT THEIR INTENTION OR ANYTHING!

Ok you do know just because you wrote the word magnitude it really doesn't make you special.
Way to continue to avoid fact btw.
Nevertheless, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt after the stupid, bitter and ignorant posts you have been coming off with here recently. Thanks for making my decision for me.
Now in case that was too poorly written for you (picking on my grammer when it's just as good as yours - ooo big e-peen!) what I meant is that you are a clueless fucking intolerant moron incapable of debate without massaging that stunted little ego of yours.
Wow if I type in tiny fonts can be as up my own asshole as you?!?!?! PLEASE!
Now, care to stay on topic? Or are you completely pre-programmed to entirely miss the point?

Please please PLEASE tell me you can do better than that. You just described the majority of your recent posts there. Arguing alone does not equal a debate.Nick wrote:Now in case that was too poorly written for you (picking on my grammer when it's just as good as yours - ooo big e-peen!) what I meant is that you are a clueless fucking intolerant moron incapable of debate without massaging that stunted little ego of yours.
As to the thread's topic, something happened and someone did it. The oil-for-food program was not working, and somehow the person(s) that were responsible for pushing it in the wrong direction will be found. Was it Galloway? Who the hell knows, but I am sure that the committee will talk to as many of the people that are suspected to be involved as possible. Is this a waste of money to investigate? Maybe, maybe not. It depends on who all does not want to come forward to admit that things were not done exactly as they were supposed to and expose any loopholes used in order to make it happen.
Man: Look this isn't an argument.Boogahz wrote:Arguing alone does not equal a debate.
Mr Vibrating: Yes it is.
Man: No it isn't, it's just contradiction.
Mr Vibrating: No it isn't.

Mr Vibrating: It is not.
Man: It is. You just contradicted me.
Mr Vibrating: No I didn't.
Man: Ooh, you did!
Mr Vibrating: No, no, no, no, no.
Man: You did, just then.
Mr Vibrating: No, nonsense!
Man: Oh, look this is futile.

I'll accept I am intolerant, something I need to improve upon, A tolerance of retards.
Glad to see you have chipped in with more "wisdom" (read entirely devoid of worth) Boogahz, I'd love to see a post by you were you do anything other than snipe people. Calling me on the same thing is a fucking joke and PLEASE TELL ME you can do better than that.
In other words, you're no fucking different so dry your soaking wet eyes.
Also, your faith in your countries justice system is certainly stronger than mine after it just invaded a country illegally without any form of legitimate intelligence and a vast amount of propoganda based on lies and not so hidden agendas. And is now attempting to smear an anti war activists name WHAT A SURPRISE.
Then again, I have yet to see anything from you that is even the tiniest amount independantly minded.

I am of a hive mind mentality...but really, I don't agree with the concepts that were behind the war. IF the scandals which are said to have happened with the oil for food program did take place, someone needs to pay. If it turns out that the US was behind it, smack those responsible as well. The fact that the Senate is even the group doing the investigating this feels worthless to me personally. I think that the UN investigations should be the ones that count in this. The countries that should be involved should be those with the least to gain or lose. A little phrase called "conflict of interest" should be enough of a reason for the Senate alone not to be involved. If "we" are trying to justify the invasion now by stating that it was because all of these other countries were not supporting the sanctions that were put in place to "keep Saddam in check"....well, we should tar and feather those responsible. From what I saw of Galloway's talks during this hearing, I think he is really good at covering things up or, more likely, had absolutely nothing to do with it.
