Why there was no tsunami warning

Post by nobody »

http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.a ... E_ID=44160
The U.N. agency charged with monitoring seismic activity around the globe sent all of its 310 employees on vacation the week of the massive earthquake and tsunami in South Asia, preventing any possibility of warning to the 227,000 victims.
i'll comment more later but atm have to get back to class

there is no tsunami detection system in the Indian Ocean.

that is probably why the tsunami wasn't detected.

You should also know that Worldnetdaily.com is a complete garbage news site.

Since when is the Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty Organization responsible for earthquake monitoring and reporting?

And what kind of nutjobs run worldnetdaily?

The Indian Ociean has a cheap but effective tsunami warning system.

When you see all the water recede from the shoreline, quickly run inland and to the nearest high ground.

The underwater quake was actually picked up at the detection center in Hawaii. They were unable to reach people in most of the places that were hit mainly because there was not anyone they knew to call in time. They were able to warn a couple places in East Africa before the waves hit there simply because they had more time between the quake and the impact.

Savage Nation is pure entertainment IMO. I don't buy even 1/100th of what he has to say. I listen to it on the way home for work just to get in a better mood for when I get home. If I hit a fast food spot on the way, people tend to wonder why I am laughing so hard.

Edit: I can't remember what Rammstein song he did a "remix" of about a year ago, but he changed the chorus to something like "Left Wing, Death Wing." It was quite humorous.

remember i like to play debils advocate,

it's easy to say world net is a garbage news site. you just have to attack the source without any real basis. i could say cnn is garbage news. i don't even have to back it up. if i tell a lie enough times people will start to believe me.

i just think it was interesting that the time they happen to send EVERYONE home, a disaster hits. it wasn't the UN's fault after all. it was those dirty americans.

Or he's a nazi. Either way six of one, half dozen of another.....
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .

Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

Organised Religion of any sort fundamentally misses the point of "god" and the love he/she/it/the universe has to give.

They are blasphemers. And as such, can go fuck themselves with their crosses or korans for all I give a shit.

That's not relevant to the post at hand, as such, I'll get back on topic.

As someone stated above, there were no sensors to pick this Tsunami up anyway, so the above, whilst coincidental, is not relevant to the Boxing day disaster.

the only reason (if it is true at all, and i'm sure it isn't) that Mormonism is the "fastest growing religion" in the US is:

the absolute numbers are WAY smaller than traditional Christian denominations, therefore it takes less absolute change in population to have a larger percentage growth.

wow Bob had 50% salary growht this year and i only had 4%.

nevermind that Bob now makes $1 a day instead of 50 cents

Actually...I was listening to an open line show the other day when they were debating whether the charges that were laid against a stripper (apparently for some dildo related parts of her show). Some people called and said that because it's a strip joint and the people going there are adults and able to choose whether to watch or not...charges shouldn't be laid. Others disagreed.

One lady strongly agreed with charges being laid because "that whole area over there has a huge sex trade and look what God did to them!"

There was a little confusion on the part of the moderator...who then said "do you mean the tsunami?"

So...apparently the tidal wave was unavoidable because people "over there" are sinners and this was vengeful god striking them down.

Anywho...that's somewhat on topic...

if God really did strike people down for being sinners then teeny (<3 :D ), kyo, cart, toker, and many others would have perished long ago. and lohrno would never have made it out of the womb. of course i am the only one here on vv that would survive being mormon and all.

i guess you can label me whatever you want, and tell me what my point of view is, aslanna and kyo. being the communists that you are.

or maybe another possibility Nobody is that you have no idea what the Will of God is.

should such a thing exist (the Will of God), i'm 101% sure you don't know who/what/when/why/how anybody makes the Smite List.

Nobody, love of life, love of reality and love of truth is not an offense. Believe some man made gospel all you want, personally I have a bit of a closer connection myself with "god" without needing to rely on other peoples interpretation.

Thanks!

Why you would consider me a bigger "sinner" than anyone else is beyond me. I don't kill, steal, want my neighbors stuff/wife... I help people out from time to time even if there is no benefit to me... In general I'm actually not a bad person...
