Man refuses to return finger.

But Clarence Stowers still has the digit, refusing to return the evidence so it could be reattached. And now it's too late for doctors to do anything for 23-year-old Brandon Fizer.

"I'm not saying who has it, but somebody has it," Stowers said this week in a telephone interview, refusing to let on where the fingertip is now.

Soon after Stowers found the finger in a mouthful of chocolate soft-serve he bought Sunday at Kohl's Frozen Custard in Wilmington, he put it in his freezer at home, taking it out only occasionally to show to television cameras.

He refused to give it to the shop's owner, and refused to give it to a doctor who was treating Fizer, who accidentally stuck his hand in a mixing machine and had his right index finger lopped off at the first knuckle.

Medical experts say an attempt to reattach a severed finger can generally be made within six hours.

But according to the shop's management, Stowers wouldn't give it back when he was in the store 30 minutes after the accident.
Basically some guy lost a finger in a custard mixing machine, and the guy who found it would not give it back so it could be re-attached because he wanted it to present at a lawsuit.

...

I'm sorry but I think the guy who found the finger should go to prison for not giving it back...

I hope the kid sues him over it. Or rams a knife through the base of the fellow's skull.

Let me know if I'm wrong here..

So a kid loses a finger in a mixing machine, but the store continues to sell the frozen custard? The kid obviously knew that he lost his finger...I'm not sure if the managers knew, but I'm guessing the kid would have reported it right away.

So instead of calling an ambulance right away, shutting down the store, disinfecting all the equipment that the severed human body part passed through, they continued serving frozen custard until this guy put the severed finger in his mouth?

Fuck that...I usually roll my eyes at some of these lawsuits, but I don't see how the store's gross negligence in this matter is getting overshadowed by the fact that the guy kept the finger for evidence. I mean, where were the fucking police/paramedics when all of this happened?

Let's not forget to mention that this same store had an employee lose a finger in a mixing machine before...the store was cleared of wrong-doing the first time, but it seems a little too coincidental to me to think that it was just a fluke the second time.

What I think is that the store was built on some sacred/haunted ground and this is just a way to try and scare people off. I mean.. 2 severed fingers at the same store? Call me crazy but I believe there is a devious power at work here!

If I were the kid that lost the finger I would wait for the prick to sue, win the settlement, then sue him for all the money he just got for not returning the finger..

I am thinking that he could have proved his case with a subpeona and some photos and still let the kid keep his finger. Hell I bet the kid probably would have testified he lost the finger and he still wins. This guy is a prick, plain and simple.

I hope the kid gets any winnings the guy gets.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon
