Favorite Song
What is your favorite song, overall. Maybe its a bit old cause youve listened to it a bit much lately...maybe it never gets old. Just a good song that you have always really loved listening to(maybe it brings back some great memories and good times...?). Pick the top few if you can't decide on just a single song song.
Two that I can think of right now that i always really love hearing are:
Under Pressure-Queen/Bowie
and
The Weight-The Band
Songs that just dont get old. I always love listening to them and they always bring back memories. Anyhow, just picka couple/few songs that you will always like and post em.

Re: Favorite Song
Well, a few that meet your specs for me:Keverian FireCry wrote:What is your favorite song, overall. Maybe its a bit old cause youve listened to it a bit much lately...maybe it never gets old. 'Radar Love' - Golden Earring: Very dangerous for me while driving: an automatic, non-negotiable increase in my speed results)
'Laid' - James: Just a fun song. Sound clip linked if you're unfamiliar with it.
'Indigo Eyes' - Peter Murphy: Reminds me of the missus
'More Than This' - Roxy Music: ditto
'Us and Them' - Pink Floyd: Classic stuff
'Working for the Clampdown' - The Clash: More classic stuff
'King Nothing' - Metallica: Great, raw angst
The 'Other Way of Stopping' - The Police: Last song on Zenyatta Mondatta (short clip linked)
'Happiness in Slavery' - Nine Inch Nails: The song that has helped me get through almost every manditory online training session I've had to take at work.
'Superstar' - The Carpenters: Love most covers of this, too - especially Sonic Youth's
'Landslide' - Fleetwood Mac: Likewise, have yet to hear a bad version of this classic
'Give Me One Reason' - Tracy Chapman: Another song that has some great covers, though none quite match the original
'Dancing Queen' - Abba: Great harmony
'Head over Heals' - The Gogos: Great piano work, and just a fun song
'Constant Craving' - kd lang: Just a beautiful song
Sorry for the long list. I could go on and post even 20 or more others, but that would be over-overkill. I'll just stop here.

That's a pretty good list. My tastes range almost as wide as that as well. A favorite song for me would never stay constant because my mood would greatly influence what I'd be more moved by from time to time, but heres a short list of a few songs I've heard recently that I've always liked:
"Lunatic Fringe" by Red Rider
"Under the Milky Way" by The Church
"In the Cage" by Genesis
"Just Like A Man" by Del Amitri
"Fa Fa" by Guster
"I'll Sail This Ship Alone" by The Beautiful South
"Liberty Song" by The Levellers
"Come On, Come On" by Mary Chapin Carpenter

Lately... Horrible Day - Frank Black and the Catholics
I listen to so many different types of music at different times it's really hard to just pick one. I've got everything from Swan Lake to McKlusky on my mp3 player right now.
China Doll - Grateful Dead, or Paranoid - Black Sabbath would come close, most of the time.

lol, elevator is a great song! very catchy...was real fun to hear it live a few months agoGarrethe wrote:niel young - down by the river
particle - elevator
pulp - common people
ween - dont shit where you eat
God Forbid - divide my destiny
its hard to name a favorite song, since my musical taste range from every side of the spectrum...reggae to classic rock to jam bands to fusion jazz to blues to some mental etc etc
some of the most talented artists in my opinion would include pink floyd, led zepplin, jimi hendrix, stevie ray vaughn, phish, eric clapton, bob marley, grateful dead metallica(for the reason that they were the first real "rock" band ive ever enjoyed since i was a little kid)
