Internet problems..

Post by Kylere »

My net access at the moment is the suck, anyone else having problems?

Is it comcast's DNS server being hosed at the moment, or is the overall hit of the current DNS poisoning attacls making many sites unreachable?

I get here because I know the IP and dropped it into my hosts file heh.

No problems here.

Try these DNS servers if you want:
169.232.66.21
169.232.66.22
164.67.128.1-3

K thanks for theDNS server numbers Aranuil and Pyr, now I have one of each as an aternate on my router, and boom the magic is happening again.

I wish I could DSL like I had in Cincy, froth, my net conn sucks compared to that, I had it actually running at 1.54 both ways and for those that are not aware that is T-1 Speed. Only DSL service in my area is Yahoo/SBC and it makes even cable look good. I hate have 128k up speeds, I used to be able to host FTP servers, mail servers etc. now I have crap for bandwidth. I would trade 3 megs of the mythical 4 meg speed down they offer, for a 512k up line

It's Comcast. Known issue, they are "dealing" with it.

aye, Bro-in-law is a sup at Comcast. Says it's a nationwide DNS server issue, and they have no ETA on when it will all be resolved.

This is one reason i'm glad I don't work for them anymore.. although, when I was with them, they were MediaOne Express... started out with the original tech support crew and we went from 2 customers to start to 10K customers within a year :p Fun times! I remember the days of sitting around the itsy bitsy call center we had, each desk with a Mac & PC, chatting with the crew around us on Instant Messenger, playing games and designing our first websites, and taking a shitload of smoke breaks hah!

Zoe: No one's gonna force you to go, Jayne. As has been stated -- this job's strictly speculative.
Jayne: Good. Cause I don't know these folks, don't much care to.
Mal: They're whores.
Jayne: I'm in.
