Help with a question

Post by Lynks »

Normally I don't ask questions like this because I end up searching the question online before bothering anyone, but I just can't find it.

What do these do on weapons, ie "Mace of Healing", ect:

+5 Heal spells,
+5 Nature spell damage

I Believe it just means +5 healing before any other enhancements.

For example, if a heal spell used to heal 70-90 hps, it now heals 75-95 hps, same for detrimental.

Could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Not one hell of a lot.

+5 hp to a healing spell seems pretty dumb, or even +50 for that matter. It's pretty paltry. Same with +damage, but I play a shaman. I think mages find it useful in some situations.

On items that have +5 to defense or a weapon skill it's useful as your chance to hit or dodge is as if you were 1 level higher (@5 skill pts per level). Same with all the skill modifiers with varying degrees of usefulness.

Ok, thanks. I guess its not a lot but i could add up if you get +5 here and +5 there.

I was just wondering wich staff I should equip, but the answer is clear now. I'm going to stick with the one that has the stats increase instead of this +5 Heal thing.

Not only are the actual amounts pathetic, but the total you can get is also caps and scales down with levels less than 60 (no matter what level the item is). I guess they needed a stat that was less useful than spirit, or something.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .

Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.

Being a Leatherworking Druid, I prefer the Beastslaying enchantments. They add to my moonfire DoT and my thorns vs beasts. I haven't seen the same from anything like a damage mod except maybe on the initial hit from Moonfire.
