Just got these used from a co-worker... haven't played either before but they come highly recommended. Anyone played either game and have any comments on good or bad..?

Morrowind is visually stunning, and fun to play for a while, though it eventually gets rather annoying when you've leveled up and are still being aggroed by whatever the hell the level one flying things are.

A lot of the content from NPCs is very repetitive, but it's definitely worth at least checking out. I played a thief in that game, and became the leader of the rogue guild (sorry it's been like 6 months). The glass armor you eventually get looks very cool.

Overall it's a good game, but there are far too many quests that involve you running all over the place for no good reason. I didn't finish it, but I've heard that the ending was annoying as well. I'd say check it out, cause it's good enough that it might be your thing.

Didn't play ID:2, but I loved ID:1.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Morrowind is a blast.

Its choked full of little details that make the world you run around in rich.

It's the most replayable game I've seen in a while.

Its also totally customizable. They added mods where you can have slaves follow you around, mansions, added islands, cities.

The neat thing about it is people keep adding content to it for free. You can just download mod after mod.

Oh yea, read a few books in the game, they're well thought out.

Is Morrowing as good as Daggerfall : The elder scrolls? I still remember that game fondly :)

No, Morrowind did not live up to daggerfall whatsoever.

Morrowind lacks the atmosphere that Daggerfall had, the soundtrack is a lot worse, and that's hard to believe considering that daggerfall was all midis. It just seemed like the whole daggerfall world was more alive, and had more oppurtunity.

I remember my first time sitting down to Daggerfall. I made a character, wandered around, and found a cemetary just after nightfall. It was then that I noticed the music was kinda eerie, but I kept going. I found a tomb, and broke in. I was actually, genuinely, scared of what I'd find. That game had a way of sucking you in.

Morrowind doesn't. It's just another game that plays off a classic title and good looks to sucker you into buying it.

Icewind Dale 2 looks and sounds great, but I just don't have the patience anymore for single player games. It just seemed far to easy to fuck up something at some point and not realize it till several hours later and have to start over. However, I did not really put much thought into it. From others that have played it, I have heard nothing but good things.

As for Morrowwind, I dug Daggerfall. It was a definate unique experience at the time. At some point I will probably check it out.

I was not too impressed with morrowind as far as gameplay went. The battle system was not really a challenge, and the running around bothered the shit out of me. I haven't gotten terribly far into icewind dale 2, but I like it a lot from what I have played, it's a nice change of pace.
