Nah, start the trials, the Mafia decided they'd rather play checkers than murder anyone today.

No, my lab went long and I can't type out two deaths in the 5 minutes I have before my ride shows up.

Deaths should be posted by 1230 EST, 930PST. It's only ~30 min later than the normal time. Be cool, be cool.

Make it hurt.

The pain was bad, of that he was sure. The sight of his family laying dead before him was worse. The agony that had ripped at his soul as they were cut, stabbed, bludgeoned, burned, skinned over the previous two hours had deadened his soul to the point that the evil acts they visited on the remains of the bodies didn’t even phase him. His wife, his little girl, and the dog... the poor dog…

Even when they cracked his ribs with the hammer, it didn’t do much to him. When his shoulder went out, he only screamed once. When they pulled his fingernails off, it hurt. Badly. They soon went to work an apple peeler and quickly removed the skin over the front of his thighs, then the bottom of his feet. Once his skin was exposed to the air, they drove needle nose pliers into the muscle and started stripping it from the bone.

They’re not sure if he died before or after they brought out the rib spreaders… but they were sure he was dead after they put the sander to his lungs.

Pump up the jam.

Another shift in the undertunnels of Sancuary resulted with the same shit - just a different day. Sionistic liked his job well enough, and it could have been worse. After all, he had heard the horror stories of cleaning up after the guy that was shoved into a woodchipper..

But when the hitman kicked him and knocked him back through the manhole, another horror story was about to be written. With a lunge, the hitter forced him down into the muck and let him stew as he jerked on the chain in his other hand. With a solid plop, the vaccum tube from the Waste Management Maitence pump fell back into the murky depths after him.

Sion didn't have a chance as the hitman cuffed his hands behind his back, trussed him up in the human waste, and then slipped a bit into his mouth that would keep him from closing it.. at all. The last thing he could focus on was the taste of the tube that the hitman shoved into his mouth.

Then the hitter pulled the other string in his hand, and the truck started in reverse.

The police found Sion's bloated corpse stuck in the piping early the next morning. The sewage had filled his stomach and had forced it to rupture, but it was likely the cause of death was the used tampon found lodged in his throat.

The sun has illuminated the events of the previous nights, and the bodycount has risen yet again. Citizens, I pity you.

Detective, you have your work cut out for you. You have 4 people that want to see you dead, and so far, your luck has been abysmal. I have faith that you won't choose poorly again - but I also anxiously await your entrance into mylittle sandbox of toys.

The detective paced back and forth in front of a large whiteboard. On it were recent voting records, showing a large majority of the citizenship voting both suspects guilty in every case... but a small minority did not. The detective poured over this information and decided upon 2 who have decided to either abstain from voting, or split their voting, one guilty, one not guilty... believing that they are all too happy the other citizens are voting guilty.

A quick phone call later and police had been dispatched to pick up the suspects.

The Trials of Canoe and Waikiki

Image

Canoe and Waikiki are brought before the court, charged with the brutal murders that took place last night.

Canoe, post your defense.

Waikiki, post your defense.

Voting will open when defenses have been posted, or at 130pm PST. Voting will close at 545pm PST.

Well, first of all if you would look back at my voting record, I have been voting based on truely if I thought the person was guilty or not.

My outlook in this game is not the same as most others (and you will see this is consistent in the past Mafia Games as well) - I don't believe you should vote guilty on people, just to thin out the crowd.

I truly try to do my best and only convict mafia. Last game I was pretty darn good at it - this game my aim hasn't been as good unfortunately.

I believe if there are more citizens alive, there is less chance that I will be killed by the Mafia.

As far as an alibi, last night I took the GF out for dinner, then came home and watched the new law & order show that started (No ER was on :(), and then got on with actions which don't need to be explained further (little horizontal polka).

And this morning I was swamped at work until 12:30 EST or so, so didn't even have a chance to come look at the boards - or make a kill.

Don't send another citizen to the axe :(

Let's see...A comment on the actual statistics...

NOTE: Please don't consider this as a reccomendation one way or the other. It isn't. Just showing the odds here.

14 total players...

The chances of the detective killing a mafia at random - 4/13 = 30.7%

Chances of a mafia killing the detective at random - 1 / 12 = 8%

Chances of the mafia killing another key player (IE Detective or other Mafia)- 3 / 12 = 25%

But still the more citizens out of play, the higher those percentages go.

IF two are taken out today...

The chances of the detective killing a mafia at random - 4/11 = 36.4%

Chances of a mafia killing the detective at random - 1 / 10 = 10%

Chances of the mafia killing another key player (IE Detective or other Mafia)- 3 / 10 = 30%

Note:
There is something to be said for ACTUAL LOGIC TOO! :D

Canoe's responses to the deaths force me to think he's just admiring his work and is very happy about the way he killed Sionistic.

Canoe - Guilty

I'm going to be gone for the rest of the night and into early tomorrow, so I'll also be voting Waikiki now...

Where does it look like Canoe is admiring his work? I think its really funky how everyone is just voting guilty to thin out the crowds of people. That takes all the fun out of the game if all you do is don't really take into consideration someones defense and vote them guilty anyways. I may be lead to change my vote but for now

Canoe- not guilty

Waikiki- guilty due to lack of defense.

There have been far the poorer defenses brought about by people that should have actually been hung and weren't.

One thing you omit in your statements above -

Currently in game -

Changes of Mafia Killing me at random 2/13 15% .

If myself and waikiki are a citizens (not sure about waikiki atm) and we are killed, the chanced of me be killed tomorrow by the mafia at random are :

2/11 18%

This is what I am talking about, and why I do my best to only convict the mafia.

So far there have been what - 4 citizens killed by Trial?

If those citizens had not been convicted the chances of me being killed tonight at random would be 2/17 or 11.7% - a 3.3% drop from the above on tonights, and if neither waikiki or myself are killed today a 6.3% drop.

That's what i'm trying to show here.

I'm not trying to influence the vote, but I wanted to note that Canoe has so far had the best defense I've seen. Sorry but Alibis do not cut it on the internet. If you were mafia, there's no reason you couldn't give your kills 3 days in advance, or have your partner do it. I want to see more defenses like this, logical...

Due to it being friday night, this is going to be short and sweet:

The Judgement of Canoe and Waikiki

Image

Judge Fash boomed, "Canoe and Waikiki, you have been found Guilty of murder. Your execution will be done with our new electric chair. It's one of those new-fangled ones that looks like it came from Ikea. Off you go now.."

And so one by one by one they fried, while everyone else gagged from the smell.

Due to it being Saturday, the executions this morning w/ill be short and two the point. Detective, please have your trial info in by 2pm PST. Times on voting will follow shortly therafter.

Shocking

Amused by the use of Old Sparky in the previous night, the hitman decided to be extra cruel. Kindo didn't realize somthing was amiss until he flipped on his auto toothbrush and let the head contact water.

Shocking...

RIP Citizen Kindo

Jacked up.
While praising the work of the detective may not have been the best idea, Amsterdam was a good choice, Rivera thought. Good food, good drugs, great sex. It was in one of those establishments that catered to such great... entertainment... that Rivera met his doom.

He had agreed to let the girls tie him up and was happily laying on his stomach, ss in the air, awaiting his spanking when the giggles from the girls suddenly stopped. What he didn't realize is that the reason the girls went silent was because they were all dead... The hitman walked into the room the rest of the way, silenced pistol in one hand as he drug a jackhammer into the room with the other.

Rivera never knew what hit him.
But in his last moment of clarity, he thought, "This is what a virgin bride must feel like~!"

See you in game 4!
This is an obvious problem, and if we do have a game 4, alibis must be posted if we want to keep the game realistic and enjoyable. Do you know of anyone who in a case such as this, with their life on the line, say in court "i'm being found guilty so i'm not going to bother." No. Cochran gets in there and saves their asses.

Furthermore, and this is directed to the majority of players (mainly those who vote guilty on everyone regardless of their alibi) - You guys haven't let a single person on trial live through the night. You are the reason we get posts like Waikiki's. What's the fun in instantly voting guilty? Throw a curveball once in a while and make it interesting.

Not one person has been found not guilty - it's gotten to the point of it doesn't matter what someone posts - they are going to be guilty anyway.

Imho, the defenses should be about why it wasn't them who killed the previous nights victims, and why specifically they wouldnt have killed them if they were mafia....

then we decide if we believe them. defenses about what they were doing IRL seem kinda pointless when we must be able to post.
